Anthropomorphic figurines made of bone and flint, found on two sites, Wilczyce and Nieborowa in southeastern Poland are discussed. Wilczyce provided numerous flint and bone artefacts connected with Magdalenian settlement. 14C dating has placed the site in the second Greenland stadial (upper Oldest Dryas). The total number of figurines found during survey and excavations amounted to 54; 50 were made of flint and four of bone. There were three spots of their concentration: in the northern part of the site, in the center and at the southern end. The classification of flint figurines into right and left-sided was carried out based on the placement of the buttocks. The presence of all stages of production indicates that they were probably made on site. Flint figurine length varies between 27 and 83 mm. They were made of two kinds of flint: chocolate and Turonian. Among the bone figurines three are of approximately the same length, while the fourth is distinguished by shape as well as size. Its presence in the central part of the site has been associated potentially with a child burial discovered there. Flint sculptures from Magdalenian culture are seldom found. The only other find apart from the Wilczyce figurines is a horse from the Étiolles site in France. The Nieborowa site (excavated 1964-1977) provided diverse archeological data from the Terminal Paleolithic to the Early Iron Age among them the figurine preserved fragmentarily. Its morphology and style represent a canon noted in flint anthropomorphic figural art occurring in paraneolithic groups from the Great Russian Plain like an object from Končanskoe IV lying in the upper Volga basin.
