Suicidální chování a abúzus návykových látek

Both suicide and drug addiction represent serious health and social problems which occur globally across all cultures, causing devastating effects and loss of life. An overview of the literature and statistics from monitoring centres shows that suicide is associated with many risk factors, including psychopathological symptomatology. This article presents several risk factors and assesses the links between suicide and drug addiction.

The article is focuses at aspects of resistance to psychical stress in cyclists with a disability in the context of substance abuse stimulant effect. The first part includes knowledge about cycling of handicapped and the effect of stimulants at the sports achievement. The article also describes selected constructs of resistance to the psychical stress, like dispositional optimism. The empirical part includes descriptive data from respondents from sports environment. The data on the level of arousability and dispositional optimism are interpreted in the context of substance use by respondents to effect sports achievement. The data are compared with the data of cyclists without handicap.

The study presents the interim results of research carried out on drug-dependent pregnant women and mothers. The aim of the study is to identify individual and social characteristics which, in combination, enable individuals to cope with life stress. The authors highlight several important risks and protective factors which are effective across multiple influence domains. Negative effects revealed by the study include dysfunctional key interpersonal relationships, unstable partnerships and family environment, housing problems and emotional disorders.
