The article is devoted to the functioning of the Belarusian language in Internet communication. The author presents the results of her own research, in which she is interested in what language the Internet users write public and private messages, read news from the world or look for information. The author presents the linguistic situation on the Belarusian Internet and the functioning of the Belarusian language in various spheres of communication: in the mass media, social media, commentaries under press articles, websites of state institutions and private enterprises. Consequently, the real position and role of the Belarusian language in virtual communication is presented in the paper.

Artykuł jest poświęcony przedstawieniu podobieństw i różnic w kategoriach rodzaju gramatycznego rzeczownika w języku polskim i białoruskim. Autorka w kolejnych częściach tekstu przedstawia zasady klasyfikacji rzeczowników na poszczególne rodzaje gramatyczne ze względu na kryterium morfologiczne i semantyczne, a także uwzględniając semantyczne cechy żywotności i osobowości. W końcowej części artykułu wyszczególnione są różnice w wydzielaniu i nazywaniu kategorii rodzaju gramatycznego rzeczownika w języku białoruskim i polskim oraz zostają zaproponowane zmiany, które można byłoby wprowadzić w opisie kategorii rodzaju rzeczowników w języku białoruskim.

Артыкул прысвечаны падабенствам і адрозненням ў граматычнай катэгорыі роду назоўнікаў у польскай і беларускай мовах. Аўтарка падае правілы прыналежнасці назоўнікаў да граматычнага роду па марфалагічным і семантычным крытэрыям. У заключнай частцы артыкула пералічваюцца адрозненні ў вылучэнні і найменні катэгорый граматычнага роду назоўнікаў у беларускай і польскай мовах і прапаноўваюцца змены, якія можна было б унесці ў апісанне катэгорый роду назоўнікаў у беларускай мове.

The article dedicated to the presentation of similarities and differences in terms of grammatical gender of nouns in Polish and Belarusian. In the following parts of the text, the author presents the rules for classifying nouns into particular grammatical genders due to morphological and semantic criteria, as well as taking into account the semantic characteristics of liveliness and personality. In the final part of the article, the differences in separating and naming the categories of noun gender in Belarusian and Polish are listed, and changes that could be introduced in the description of the gender category of nouns in Belarusian are proposed.
