The aim of the project on which this contribution is based is a detailed description of the disparities among Czech regions in the financial and physical accessibility of housing, both as the current situation and as its development after the year 2000. A coherent and critical review of such disparities was largely missing, with their socioeconomic impact hardly analyzable. One of the objectives of the project was a statistic analysis of the factors affecting the socioeconomic consequences of the financial and physical accessibility of housing. Also examined is the impact of such regional disparities on the change in the demographic behaviour of the young generation, the low territorial mobility of the labour force, and the increasing threat of social exclusion of groups in acute financial inaccessibility of housing.

Cílem projektu, ze kterého příspěvek vychází, je komplexní zmapování disparit mezi jednotlivými českými regiony ve finanční a fyzické dostupnosti bydlení, a to jak jejich aktuálního stavu (průběžně po celé období řešení projektu), tak jejich vývoje od roku 2000. Doposud totiž chybělo důsledné a kritické zmapování regionálních disparit a nebylo možné analyzovat ani potenciální socio-ekonomické důsledky těchto disparit, tj. skutečné a nikoliv pouze hypotetické socio-ekonomické důsledky. Jedním z cílů projektu je statistická analýza faktorů ovlivňujících potenciální socio-ekonomické důsledky regionálních disparit ve finanční a fyzické dostupnosti bydlení. Součástí tohoto cíle je testovat vliv regionálních disparit v dostupnosti bydlení na změnu demografického chování mladé generace, nízkou prostorovou mobilitu pracovních sil a zvyšování nebezpečí sociálního vyloučení u skupin akutně ohrožených finanční nedostupností bydlení.
