The next part of the Co-Operative Thought Library (19) is devoted to the personage and attainments of Franciszek Stefczyk, a pioneer of Polish agricultural cooperatives, the creator of the savings and loans associations, modeled on the German Raiffeisen's associations. Stefczyk's views on the tasks and activities' field of financial cooperatives are illustrated basing on reprinted excerpts from the book (which appeared after the author's death): 'Traits and tasks of Stefczyk's associations', Warsaw 1927.

W kolejnej (48) części Biblioteki Myśli Spółdzielczej przypominamy teksty dwóch wybitnych popularyzatorów dorobku Katolickiej Nauki Społecznej – tj. dra Franciszka Stefczyka, pioniera spółdzielczości wiejskiej i finansowej oraz prof. Leopolda Caro, pioniera solidaryzmu chrześcijańskiego w Polsce – które ukazały się w latach 20. XX w. Zarówno solidaryzm, jak i nawiązująca do jego ideowych podstaw („miłuj bliźniego jak siebie samego") koncepcja spółdzielczości miały stanowić trzecią drogę rozwoju społecznego, łącząc niejako w wyższej syntezie zalety liberalizmu gospodarczego i niektóre idee socjalizmu; dbać o rozwój inicjatywy prywatnej i interes poszczególnych osób, ale też uwzględniać interes publiczny, budować dobro wspólne. Przypominany tu tekst Stefczyka stanowi treść jego ideowego testamentu, wygłoszonego w formie referatu pt. „Stanowisko spółdzielczości w rolnictwie" 16 czerwca 1924 r. podczas Pierwszego Kongresu Rolniczego w Warszawie.

In the next (48th) part of the Cooperative Thought Library we remind of the texts of two outstanding promoters of the Catholic Social Teaching achievements – i.e. doctor Francis Stefczyk, a pioneer of rural and financial cooperatives, and professor Leopold Caro, a pioneer of Christian solidarity in Poland – which were published in the 1920s. Both solidarity and – referring to its ideological foundations ("love thy neighbor as thyself") – the concept of cooperative movement were to constitute the third way of social development, connecting in a way in a higher synthesis the advantages of economic liberalism and some ideas of socialism; take care of the development of private initiative and the interest of individuals, but also take into account the public interest, build the common good. Stefczyk's text reminded here comprises the content of his ideological will, delivered in the form of a read-out entitled "Cooperatives’ stance in agriculture" on June 16, 1924 during the First Agricultural Congress in Warsaw.
