W pracy socjalnej opartej na zasadzie empowerment szczególnie istotnym elementem, od którego zależy skuteczność pomagania, jest gotowość osoby wspomaganej do dokonywania zmian. Prezentowany artykuł ma na celu pomóc pracownikowi socjalnemu w budowaniu takiej gotowości u osób, które nie są zdecydowane na zmiany, poprzez nabycie przez niego umiejętności motywowania. Omówiono w nim rolę motywacji w procesie pomagania oraz przedstawiono praktyczne wskazówki dla pracownika socjalnego, jak skutecznie motywować, w tym zaproponowano narzędzia motywacyjne do wykorzystania w pracy socjalnej.

The article presents research on the family violence prevention system family from the perspective of social assistance. The position of social welfare and the role of social worker in this system are discussed. A specific social position and the key role of social worker in the system of prevention of violence have been confirmed. Study also shows the diversity of the system preventing domestic violence, which differs depending on the size of the municipality. In smaller communities, it is based primarily on the social workers and in the larger communties it is largely supported by other professionals: psychologists and lawyers.

W artykule przedstawiono działanie systemu przeciwdziałania przemocy w rodzinie z perspektywy pomocy społecznej, na podstawie ostatnich badań. Omówiono usytuowanie pomocy społecznej i rolę pracownika socjalnego w tym systemie. Potwierdzono szczególną rolę pomocy społecznej i kluczową rolę pracownika socjalnego w systemie przeciwdziałania przemocy w rodzinie. Z badań wynika również zróżnicowanie systemu przeciwdziałania przemocy w rodzinie w zależności od wielkości gminy. W mniejszych gminach oparty jest on przede wszystkim na pracowniku socjalnym, a w większych natomiast w znacznym stopniu wspierany jest również przez innych profesjonalistów: przede wszystkim psychologów i prawników.

In the empowerment-based social work, a particularly important element on the effectiveness of helping is the willingness of the assisted person to introduce changes. The presented article aims to help a social worker in building such readiness for people who are not determined to change, by acquiring the ability to motivate them. It discusses the role of motivation in the process of helping and presents practical tips for a social worker on how to effectively motivate, including incentive tools for use in social work.

The authors analyse business models existing in leading technology transfer academic centres throughout the world, in order to find out to what extent they are implemented by entities in Poland. Their attention is focused on such components of business models as: legal form and methods of financing, the mission of operations, the work integration and the mechanisms of collaboration with the science and commercial sector. The study is qualitative, based on the analysis of the case studies of foreign entities. The diversity of global solutions enables a critical look at the activities of Polish technology transfer centres and points to the choice of models which are best suited to their domestic conditions. According to the authors, the improved effectiveness of technology transfer centres is an important part of the debate on the transformation of traditional universities into entrepreneurial universities.
