Certain aspects of object qualities, characteristics of living organisms and system theory (in relation to Roman Ingarden's concept) are discussed. The basis of cybernetics, thermodynamics and theory of information are presented as an introduction to the analysis of material constants of the content of the idea. Difficulties related to the description of the idea of man, resulting from the existence of ”borderline cases” in the human population are discussed. A hypthetical set of material constants of the content of the idea is proposed.

This article discusses a set of material variables of the content of the idea of a human being, those related to the biological structure of human organisms. Ingarden’s concept of the structure of variables is modified somewhat in order to reflect individual and population variability. Examples of ”genotypic” and ”phenotypic” variables are proposed. Constants and variables related to the mental qualities of humans are described, as well as how they relate to the constants and variables connected with the organism structure. This takes into account various mind-body concepts.

The basis of Roman Ingarden's concept is discussed in relation to the idea of man, an inexact idea whose content’s direct morphe is a conglomerate lacking any internal unity. A short description of the “idea qua idea” aspect and the constants and variables of the content of the idea are presented. Difficulties related to the description of the idea of living organisms, characterized by both inter-individual variability (diversity) and intra-individual transformability (development), are discussed. In order to overcome these difficulties, a modification of some of Ingarden’s solutions is proposed and the problem of understanding human beings’ constitutive nature as a Gestalt quality is analyzed. Issues connected with a detailed analysis of the content of the idea are also characterized.
