In the atribution author give attention to communication with depressed patients. A very important moment in communications nurse patient occurs already at the first contact. First impressions can influence the attitude and course of treatment as in positive as well as negative sense. Therefore, it is important that nurse to know correct communicate with the depressed patients. During duty nurse frequent patient contact and follow-up interview him. Depression deprives a person of joy from anything, especially from life. The causes of depression are not known to this day we know only the biological processes in the brain and the factors that may contribute to developing depression. Aggression is a behavior that shows the efforts toward certain objects or hostility and viciousness with a strong intent to harm. The main symptoms include aggressive behavior, verbal expressions, physical assault, damage to things, self-mutilation, nonverbal expressions. The escalation of aggression and violence in society has gradually spilled over into clinics, hospitals, ambulances, the relationship between health professionals and patients. Rescuers intervene often in exposed conditions in the intervention happens that aggression present witnesses an incident, or the family or the patient himself is directed against them. In the field, the ambulance EMS encounter most often in with aggressive patients, second only to drugs and about 10% confrontation with aggression is the underlying disease. We are talking about ageism thus, social prejudice against age. These are the statements and positions without a true foundation, but the appearance that they are at the core of truth. Some manifestations of discrimination are evident in some unspoken subtext. In practice, we often encounter ageism as age discrimination against individuals or groups of older people, for example, advertisements offering jobs. Generation 55+ is not only healthier than we think, but to live for a longer active life than previous generations, are far more involved in other activities than just gardening, fishing and baking cookies and cakes. Seniors begin also other careers, leading companies devoted to artistic activities, traveling, attending educational courses, schools and transmit their profession and experience to others. To give people a sense of well being and reinforce positive attitudes in society towards aging and older people is essential participation in social, economic, cultural and voluntary activities, responsible approach to their own life and interest in the development of society. The main ethical principles are respect for human uniqueness, while recognizing equality between people, respect for the dignity of the older person, and respect for its independence, the right to self-determination, the right to privacy and personal choice. It is important to promote, strengthen and protect the family as the basic cell of society, in which there is naturally intergenerational solidarity, and respect for the elderly. The program aims to create conditions for full and active life of seniors, eliminate the causes of the inadmissible restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms for reasons of age and social status, combat discrimination and social exclusion of the elderly, strengthening intergenerational solidarity, self-reliance, recognizing the contribution of seniors to family and society, promote understanding , tolerance and solidarity.

In the article authors syndrome focuses on abuse and neglect of the child is referred to as CAN - Child Abuse and Neglect. The term covers not only the active forms of maltreatment, but also various forms of passive. Abuse and neglect of the child as a non-random, knowingly (or unknowingly) conduct a parent or other person to the child who is in the society unacceptable or rejected and which impair the physical, mental and social condition and development of the child and cause his death. The most common forms of committing domestic violence against children is repeated physical and emotional abuse, verbal abuse, especially threats. It is estimated that two thirds affected are children under the age of three years. The most effective means of reducing the number of children at risk of child abuse syndrome - is prevention. It is necessary to inform the general public about the issue of child abuse and to raise general awareness of the obligation to report any suspicion of child abuse and neglect in the vicinity. In Slovakia there is a system of care for abused children, in which they engage as state as well as non-state institutions. Report case can alone a child, or a person who suspects that a child‘s development is compromised for any reason. Children are in acute cases placed in the „Center for abused children“. This device is intended for children who need special and immediate assistance. This is particularly the children mentally and physically maltreated or sexually abused by their parents or by a stranger. The main coordinator of activities in Slovakia aimed at preventing child abuse to child victims of violence and respect of children‘s rights is a non-profit organization Center Slniečko from Nitra.

Homelessness is an urgent problem for any civilised society. It becomes the subject of examination of several fields of science such as social work, medicine, nursing, public health, law, sociology, psychology, theology, ethics, economy, environment and so on. In the paper, the authors analyze individual types of homelessness and social and health forms of assistance. They pay attention to the causes of homelessness, they describe the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms and the related right to treatment, the right to social services. In the Czech Republic, they approximate the importance, objectives and tasks of the association of asylum houses and dormitories, similarly indicating the situation in the Slovak Republic. They pay particular attention to health risks in the homeless community (mental disorders, infectious diseases, viral hepatitis, HIV/AIDS) and access to healthcare for the homeless.

The authors of this report deals with the role of Public Health in Children and Youth HealthStrategic directives to improve the health and development of children and adolescents based on the implementation of the European Strategy, which underline the seven main priorities: maternal and newborn health, nutrition and physical activity, infectious diseases, injuries and violence, environment, adult age and psychosocial development and mental health. The most important preventive measures for children and adolescents include: preventive examinations, vaccination, screening tests, nutrition – prevention of eating disorders and injury prevention safety. Considering on the mostly close relationship with children in the community where doctors and nurses are working, the doctor becomes the figure who through lectures, for example, in primary schools, personal meetings affects the health awareness of children, their trend towards healthy eating, healthy lifestyle and prevention of lifestyle diseases. No need not forget especially the role of nurses in ordination – nurse – educator. Her most important task is to „educate“ and „learn“ the correct habits that encourage the protection of their health by the client himself. Conscientiously fulfill their duties and pleasant demeanor nurse thus contributes to the correct learn the basics lifestyle has on children.

Authors try to point out the risks of the Roma community, based on the specifics of their culture, thought, and values of a lifestyle with that they alive. They are delivering characteristics of segregated Roma settlements, reflect on the state of health of the Roma community, which is related to their social problems. Authors are discussing in detail numbers of risk factors that affect the health of the Roma community. Based on these characteristics authors point to the fact that the Roma ethnic group is a way of lifestyle for the group with a high incidence of risk of many diseases. In the context with scientific knowledge and technical possibilities of modern medicine are rising many ethical, legal, social, psychological, economic, and specifically medical problems, also problems in therapeutic and nursing care for terminally ill and dying patients. Process of dying is moved from intimate family environment into professional institutions - clinics, departments and other health and social facilities. People are for years divided into two camps - some are strongly opposed to euthanasia and others on the other hand believe that in some conditions when the pain is unbearable even after a strong dose of morphine, suffering person becomes only a helpless „victim of medicine“.

Today's time already think about this problem through various schemes, regulations, standards and codes. One of the main subjects that are concerned by ethics is nursing. Here, thanks to everyday work with peole, must everything work for the benefit of morality. Code of Ethics sets and modifies certain rules in spe- cific fields. They determine or recommend certain patterns of behaviour. For nurses indicate the direction the International Council of Nurses. Here it is described that the nurse has a duty to care for the health, alleviate suffering, prevent disease and restore health. Emergency medicine is in these modern times pushing the boundaries of therapy. From this point of view implies not only respect to the rights of critically ill patient and their implementation in intensive care. This is happening despite the efforts and need for constant professionalism and conditions of available methods and procedures. Provi- sion of acute care medicine is today very complex.

The authors point to balanced nutrition in children with heart disease, which is not easy at all in terms of age and nutrition, and with respect to the limitations of heart disease. heart disease in childhood is a very comprehensive set of diseases, including congenital malformations, arrhythmias, valvular defects, hypertension. Congenital heart defects include situations where the heart attack is present at birth. In the czech republic approximately 500 children with heart defect are born annually. The aim of the paper is to make recommendations on how to properly choose the right foods for children with heart disease. it is important to exclude industrially produced salt foods, limiting salt and fat intake. These measures can be approached very individually with respect to the child‘s age, surgery, associated dg., medication. The whole family should always be involved so that the child does not suffer, it is not our intention to psychically distract the child. it should also take into account age, sex. a mildly reducing diet if overweight or obesity is always a risk! in the case of a very young child, such as breast-fed infants, it is important for these measures to be followed by a nursing mother. Nutrition is most important not only for children with heart disease, because they may need to take care of themselves in order to prevent their condition from becoming fatal at the end, as well as prevention and healthy lifestyle.

Authors focus on the importance of counseling centers in health protection and in promotion and development of public health in the Slovak Republic. Health is not only one of the most important rights of every citizen, but it also an obligation to take care of it. Chronic diseases can be prevented by adopting the principles of good nutrition, sufficient physical activity and avoiding of smoking, alcohol and stress. Level of control of major risk factors, especially of hypertension, should be increased. Also the motivation for patients to eliminate their risk factors through the instruments of state policy adequate education and the availability of better quality health care should be improved. Health counseling centers are designed for healthy people who are interested in the quantification of selected health status indicators related to cardiovascular disease, based on which is assessed the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Slovaks live longer, but differences in life expectancy by gender and socio-economic groups persist. In the Slovak health care system, care is provided to all residents, although access to it is limited in some regions and quality and efficiency can improve in many areas. Most Slovaks report good health, but there are differences according to income groups. About two thirds of the Slovak population report good health, a ratio similar to the EU average, but higher than in most neighboring countries. However, according to their own health assessment, there are differences in socio-economic status. The health of the Slovak population has improved since 2000, but it still lags behind the EU average. Slovaks live longer, but differences in life expectancy by gender and socio-economic groups persist. In the Slovak health care system, care is provided to all residents, although access to it is limited in some regions and quality and efficiency can improve in many areas.

The authors point out that tuberculosis is the oldest infectious killer of humans and today it is such a serious threat to health that the World Health Organization (WHO) equates it to a time bomb. The most common source of infection by mycobacteria tuberculosis to a man is a sick person. Epidemiologically greatest danger is sick person with untreated decay pulmonary tuberculosis whose sputum may spread billions of tuberculosis bacilli every day. The overall situation in the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in Slovakia is generally favorable, although in the eastern parts of Slovakia incidence is growing rapidly. Slovakia has compared with all Europe small to moderate incidence of this disease and its incidence has downward trend. East Slovakia so far has hot won combat this disease yet. It is therefore necessary to continue effective intervention and prevention to combat the spread of this disease.

Authors of this article describe the history of hospice care and community nursing. They define hospice nursing care according to the criteria of the World Organization of Home and Hospice Care. They point to the importance and role of community nursing in that area. Further they analyze the difficulties of hospice nursing care. The conclusion is based on the rights of dying patients, where the main goal of palliative care is to maintain the patient’s physical and psychological well-being, pain-free state and dignified and peaceful death.

Authors in this article deal with the issue of people who are, for various reasons, without accommodation. They analyse the causes of their condition, which is absolutely necessary to know, in order to be able to help them. They analyse options that are currently offered in this area. They highlight the issue of their health, which is of course seriously affected by their limited conditions of survival. Their decline of social status as of valid members of our society leads to a serious problem that should be related to all of us if we do not want to allocate them from the society. Homelessness is the urgent medical, nursing, social, psychological, ethical and sociological problem. It is in interest of the public health from the aspect of the spread of infections and of interest of independent foundations and non-profit organizations. Volunteers play an increasingly important role in the care of the homeless community, either as a group or as single individuals.
