Books are the final product of the process, which consists of the phase of an individual or collective creative process, production phase implemented in the enterprises of the printing industry and the service phase consisting in the dissemination, distribution and commercialisation of the product. The whole process is therefore very complex due to its alternating intangible and material nature, which, apart from the economic dimension, also has a social dimension. Therefore, the product is highly sensitive to the processes occurring in the broad culture susceptible to national environmental influences determined by global processes. The goal of the work was a general description of the book market presented in a strategic perspective in the light of dynamic changes taking place in its environment. The use of the scenario method of environment conditions for analysing the book market was used to better identify the macro -environment components that can have a decisive impact on the functioning of the book market. Based on the results obtained, it seems that there will probably be a further increase in access to the texts, based on modern technologies. The key factor determining the further development of all links in the book market will be the socio -cultural factor, which is associated with the transition towards information society (hypertext) in which information itself and the convenient medium of its message are important.

Książki są produktem finalnym procesu, na który składają się: etap indywidualnego lub zbiorowego procesu twórczego, etap produkcyjny realizowany w przedsiębiorstwach przemysłu poligraficznego oraz etap usługowy polegający na upowszechnianiu, dystrybucji i komercjalizacji produktu. Całość procesu jest więc bardzo złożona ze względu na jego naprzemienny niematerialny i materialny charakter, który poza wymiarem ekonomicznym ma w sobie również wymiar społeczny. Stąd też duża wrażliwość tego produktu na zachodzące procesy w sferze szeroko pojętej kultury podatnej na wpływy otoczenia krajowego, ale determinowane przez procesy globalne. Celem pracy jest ogólna charakterystyka rynku książki w perspektywie strategicznej w świetle dynamicznych przemian zachodzących w jego otoczeniu. Zastosowanie metody scenariuszy stanów otoczenia do analizy rynku książki miało na celu lepszą identyfikację tych składników makrootoczenia, które mogą mieć decydujący wpływ na funkcjonowanie rynku książki. Na podstawie otrzymanych wyników wydaje się, że najprawdopodobniej nastąpi dalszy wzrost dostępu do tekstu książki w oparciu o nowoczesne technologie. Kluczowym czynnikiem decydującym o dalszym rozwoju wszystkich ogniw rynku książki będzie jednak czynnik społeczno -kulturowy, który związany jest z przejściem w kierunku społeczeństwa informacyjnego (hipertekstowego) w którym istotna jest sama informacja oraz wygodny nośnik jej przekazu.

Export of raw timber from Ukraine to the EU in the last years rose to unprecedented numbers. Growth in exports stems not only from the huge activity on the supply side, but also the growing demand for timber and timber products in the EU. Most Ukrainian wood raw material is recovered, processed and exported in the grey area which is essentially outside the control of state services. Therefore, for a full understanding of the processes of logging, its initial processing, preparation for export and export it is necessary to take into account both the economic and socio-cultural context, as in the case of the Ukrainian wood market it plays an equally important role. The aim of the article is to characterise the socio-economic conditions with particular emphasis on sourcing of wood raw material and its often confidant processing and export mainly to EU countries.The study used available official yearbooks, statistical studies and materials from public analytical reports prepared by specialised international institutions.

Eksport surowca drzewnego z Ukrainy do UE przybrał w ostatnich latach niespotykane rozmiary. Jego dynamika wynika nie tylko z ogromnej aktywności po stronie podaży, ale również rosnącego popytu na drewno i produkty z drewna w krajach UE. Większość ukraińskiego surowca drzewnego pozyskuje się, przetwarza i wywozi w szarej strefie, będącej w zasadzie poza kontrolą służb państwowych. Dlatego do pełnego zrozumienia zachodzących procesów pozyskiwania drewna, jego wstępnego przerobu, przygotowania do eksportu i wywozu, należy uwzględnić zarówno kontekst ekonomiczny, jak i społeczno-kulturowy, gdyż w przypadku ukraińskiego rynku drzewnego odgrywa on równie ważną rolę. Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka uwarunkowań społeczno-gospodarczych ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem form pozyskiwania surowca drzewnego oraz jego często konfidencjonalnego przetwarzania i eksportu głównie do krajów UE.W badaniach wykorzystano dostępne oficjalne roczniki i opracowania statystyczne oraz materiały z ogólnodostępnych raportów analitycznych przygotowanych przez specjalistyczne międzynarodowe instytucje.

Perception of space is an especially important part of research on urban fabric. The perception of a city is strongly correlated not only with a specific time and place but, first and foremost, with surveyed populations who, apart from having varying demographic features, frequently represent disparate community and cultural profiles. The objective of this study was to assess how the urban space of Szczecin (Poland) is perceived by its inhabitants and to ascertain the relations between various image elements. The example of Szczecin appears to be interesting, in as much as it is a peripheral city of a cross-border region with a historically and culturally diverse local community. The presented research used a method of analysing mental (image) maps based on the methodology proposed by Kevin Lynch (1960) and modified by the authors to incorporate in-depth interviews. Individual respondents' views were used to create a synthetic image of the city.
