Live-Ticker: zu der neuen multimodal-hypertextuellen Form der Live-Berichterstattung

The live broadcast of different, socially important events is nowadays no longer reserved only for radio and television. The live-ticker, a result of various media convergence processes, is a multimodal and interactive set of institutional reports, journalists’ and politicians’ opinions, pictures, short films and social media posts, that 24/7 provides the most up-to-date information on a specific topic. The article is an investigation into the media genre live-ticker with a focus on its multimodal structure, the language-image relations, as well as aspects of hypertextuality. Finally, I want to show what the live ticker differs from similar forms of online broadcasting. The corpus are three Danish live-tickers that provided the most detailed report on the trial of the Danish entrepreneur and designer Peter Madsen: bt.dk, ekstrabladet.dk and jyllands-posten.dk. Madsen murdered in 2017 a Swedish journalist Kim Wall, for which he was sentenced in April 2018 to life imprisonment.

Oversættelsesstrategier af retningsadverbiet ud i polske oversættelser af H.C. Andersens Eventyr & Historier

The article is an investigation into strategies applied when translating Danish sentences with the directional adverb ud into Polish. The analyzed material consists of three different translations of a selection of H.C. Andersen’s fairytales into Polish, i.e. Cecylia Niewiadomska’s (1908), Stefania Beylin and Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz’s (1975) and Bogusława Sochanska’s (2006). The analysis is mainly focused on the Polish equivalents of Danish sentences with the directional adverb ud. However, since only Sochanska’s translation is a direct translation from Danish into Polish (the remaining ones are translations via German) the article’s analytical part also includes a comparison of strategies applied by the individual translators. Lastly, some comments are made with regards to the semantic status of the Danish directional adverb ud and its Polish equivalents.

Many websites nowadays oblige you to log in to comment on their content. Some of them have gone further and linked the option to submit comments with the so-called paywall. The following paper tries to answer the question about the effectiveness of these measures as protection against hate speech. For this purpose, selected comments on articles about the COVID-19 pandemic from wyborcza.pl and sueddeutsche.de have been analyzed considering the hate speech appearing there. The differences that occur between the two portals in this area are also focused.

Auf vielen Webseiten ist heutzutage das Einloggen erforderlich, um die Inhalte kommentieren zu konnen. Einige Portale sind noch weiter gegangen und haben die Kommentarmoglichkeit mit der sogenannten Paywall verbunden. Im Folgenden wird versucht, die Effektivitat dieser Masnahmen als Schutz gegen die Hassrede zu analysieren. Dazu werden ausgewahlte Kommentare zu Artikeln uber die COVID-19Pandemie aus wyborcza.pl und sueddeutsche.de im Hinblick auf die dort erscheinende Hassrede untersucht. Fokussiert werden auch die Unterschiede, die in diesem Bereich zwischen beiden Portalen vorkommen.

The contrastive view of two languages is always a very important source of data from grammar’s, didactics’ and translation’s point of view. In the following article the differences in semantic valency between Polish and Danish motion verbs are described. The different levels of semantic restrictions are presented and compared as well as differences in semantic roles. The study gives also informa-tion about the influence of divergence and convergence on the semantic valency.

The following article shows differences in semantic valency between Polish and German motion verbs. The different levels of their semantic restrictions are described and compared as well as differences in semantic roles. The study also gives information about the semantic content of verbs when divergence occurs.
