Fr Ireneusz Werbiński starts from an anthropological foundation, defining a person as a human being who is exactly what the Creator predicted for him. These characteristics define a bodily person whose aim should be a spiritual man. The development of a human being and the fulfilment of life's tasks defined by him begin with the knowledge and formation of oneself - his personal qualities. This is the very awakening of faith leading to a living relationship with God. The spirituality properly experienced," indicates Fr Werbiński, "should integrate all dimensions of a person: biological, mental and spiritual.The whole process of spiritual formation of man has a significant impact on the creation and consolidation the image of God in him. In order to read the correct image of man's spirituality in his process of striving for holiness, we should first of all take from the Bible, whose source is God.The truths revealed in it indicate that the personal nature of human holiness comes from the personal nature of God.

Ireneusz Werbiński w swoich refleksjach na temat człowieka duchowego wychodzi od fundamentu antropologicznego, definiując osobę jako istotę ludzką, która dokładnie jest tym, co przewidział dla niej Stwórca. Rozwój człowieka oraz realizowanie określonych przez niego zadań życiowych rozpoczyna się od poznania i formacji siebie – jego cech osobowych.  Jest to asumptem do przebudzenia wiary prowadzącego do żywych relacji osobowych z Bogiem. Duchowość właściwie przeżywana– wskazuje ks. Werbiński – powinna integrować wszystkie wymiary osoby: biologiczny, psychiczny i duchowy. Cały proces kształtowania duchowego człowieka ma znaczący wpływ na powstawanie w nim i utrwalanie obrazu Boga. Aby odczytać prawidłowy obraz duchowości człowieka w jego procesie zmierzania ku świętości, należy przede wszystkim zaczerpnąć z Biblii, której źródłem jest Bóg.

In this paper the author presents the problem of formation of young people preparing for the sacrament of marriage. He points at the characteristic elements of such formation and the influence of spiritual formation not only on future spouses but also on their families. The aim of such formation is to shape the lifestyle of a particular person on the basis of a constant unchanging foundation which is Jesus Christ. He draws attention to the fact that marriage is based on God’s love for man. The marriage preparation not only contributes to the spiritual formation but also to the growth of faith. The article accounts for the methods of formation which are a result of two activities. The first one consists in the transmission of the truth about God by Church ministers. The latter is an effort of the person being formed. The author also explains the means of formation: the magisterium, the sacramental life, introduction to the prayer life and the liturgy of the Church, the spiritual exercise in the examination of conscience and the individual spiritual guidance.

W artykule autor przedstawia zagadnienie formacji młodzieży przygotowującej się do sakramentu małżeństwa. Wskazuje na elementy charakterystyczne takiej formacji. Ukazuje wpływ formacji duchowej nie tylko na przyszłych małżonków, ale również na ich rodziny. Celem takiej formacji jest ukształtowanie stylu życia konkretnej osoby w oparciu o stały, niezmienny fundament, którym jest Jezus Chrystus. Zwraca uwagę na fakt, że związek małżeński wzorowany jest na miłości Boga do człowieka. Autor wskazuje również na to, aby formacja duchowa służyła przede wszystkim umocnieniu postaw wiary. W artykule zostały ukazane różne metody formacji. Pierwsza polega na przekazywaniu prawdy o Bogu przez osoby zaangażowane w formację kandydatów do małżeństwa, a drugie zadanie wskazuje na wysiłki osobiste formowanej osoby. Autor wskazuje także na środki formacji: nauczanie, życie sakramentalne, wprowadzenie w życie modlitwy i liturgii Kościoła, ascezę zawartą w rachunku sumienia oraz indywidualne kierownictwo duchowe.

The article presents prayer as a way to achieve perfection. According to St Theresa of Calcutta, it is only through constant prayer that a person’s heart can be pure, becoming a dwelling place for God. The article also presents prayer as the centre of spiritual life and a condition for its development. The author presents four types of prayer according to Teresa of Calcutta. Describes the role of prayer in achieving holiness. Presents the types of prayer and their functions in the spiritual life of man. Shows prayers as a process and a means of knowing God’s will.

Artykuł przedstawia modlitwę jako drogę do osiągnięcia doskonałości. Według św. Teresy z Kalkuty tylko dzięki nieustannej modlitwie ludzkie serce może być czyste, stając się miejscem przebywania Boga. Artykuł również ukazuje modlitwę jako centrum życia duchowego i warunek jego rozwoju. Autor przedstawia cztery rodzaje modlitwy, jakie można wyróżnić u świętej z Kalkuty. Opisuje rolę modlitwy w osiągnięciu świętości. Przedstawia rodzaje modlitwy i ich funkcje w życiu duchowym człowieka. Ukazuje modlitwę jako proces oraz środek poznania woli Bożej.
