Celem artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jaki sposób popularne w sieci pojęcie madki może wpłynąć na stereotyp matki i społeczny obraz rodziny. Autorka podejmuje aktualny temat dotyczący współczesnych przemian w postrzeganiu macierzyństwa, wykorzystuje przy tym metody lingwistyki antropologiczno-kulturowej, swoje rozważania umieszcza dodatkowo w kontekście socjologicznym i socjolingwistycznym. Rekonstrukcja znaczenia nowego pojęcia pokazuje, że zawarte w nim silne nacechowanie negatywne oddziałuje na społeczny wizerunek matek i prowadzi do piętnowania rodzin.

The paper is trying to answer the question of how the popular concept of madka can affect the stereotype of a mother and the social perception of the family. The author takes up the current topic regarding contemporary changes in the perception of motherhood using anthropological and cultural linguistics methods, and the considerations are put in the sociological and sociolinguistic context. Reconstruction of the meaning of the new concept leads to the conclusion that its strong negative markings affect the social image of mothers and leads to stigmatizing families.

The author addresses the constantly relevant problem of the relationship between language and identity, gaining a new dimension in the context of transformations related to civilisation, globalisation and glocalisation. The research concerned students’ awareness of the role they believed language to play in the shaping of identity. For this purpose, surveys were conducted among 66 students of humanities. The paper fits in the field of ethnolinguistics and sociolinguistics.
