Comprehensive conciliar doctrine to the subject of the Eastern Churches, in- cluding the decree of the Eastern Catholic Churches, constitutes an extremely important contribution to the forming of opened Catholic-Orthodox relations. It is diverging about of former stereotyped demonstrative visions relative to infidel community. As regards dense taking back to the Eastern Churches, both Catholic and orthodox is developing the entire number of norms and principles which are supposed to support the better mutual recognition and of the unabridged accept- ance as particularistic community.

Christian de Duve is a laureate in Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, in 1974 with Albert Claude and George E. Palade for describing the structure and functioning of cellular organelles such as lysosomes and peroxisomes. It also deals with the issue of the origins of life, developing theories of its origin on the basis of the hypothesis of the so-called., “The original broth”, the creation of life in the ocean of the original amino acid, in which chemical reactions are catalyzed by ultraviolet light. This article attempts to show the essential aspects of forming the core of his hypothesis on the origin of life on original Earth. Christian de Duve focuses the attention at the determinants of the historical development of the first animated system in which, with available before 3.5 billion years of simple chemical compounds, has been to create a primitive molecule RNA (ribonucleic acid). This process started so there.: “RNA“ world. ''RNA” world which is the result of a particular order, of successive chemical reactions, as determined Nobel Prize winner, “protometabolism”. Protometabolism includes reactions that generated the 'RNA world' and maintain it all the time in existence. Protometabolism is the foundation for further process, which resulted in the emergence of the contemporary metabolism, protein-based enzymes... Mention the transition from simple molecules to create protometabolism autocatalist cycles, to take place, according to C. de Duve, through the use catalytic capabilities of molecules, such as trioesters - organic compounds, the sulfur analogues of esters. In the described hypothesis, the first in the history of metabolic reactions derive energy from breaking trioesters bonds. Exchange the metabolism into protometabolism, powered by chemical reactions in trioesters catalysed by enzymes, based C. de Duve, about combining their congruity. Principles is intended to assist in understanding how chemistry primary metabolic cycles functioned and, above all, researchers have to realize that the suggestions, as it could run, and can be found in modern metabolic pathways of cells. This mechanism, as pathways of archaic chemistry evolved, are a valuable contribution to the development of research on the origins of life on Earth.

The presence of theology in the academic community is today a challenge of particular significance. One of the most important reasons are political transformations in the post-communist countries of Europe in the last 25 years, as well as ideological and axiological transformations in the West of our continent. All these processes have affected many spheres of social, cultural and spiritual life and are directly related to shaping the contemporary theological thought. Although theology acquires potentially new opportunities for development and impact in the university space, in practice there are increasing difficulties in its affirmation. The problem primarily concerns the scientific profile of theology and the responsibility of theologians themselves.

As a hierarch of the Church, Józef Teodorowicz had a unique capacity for combining his calling to priesthood with a concurrent dedication to social and national ministry. That is why he always strongly advocated an authentic development of autonomy and religious freedom of the Armenian minority and of other national communities in Galicia. He was convinced that only by maintaining the community's distinctiveness and identity can traditional values be truly guarded. Teodorowicz was aware that genuine spiritual and cultural ties in a national community living in diaspora can only be cultivated in an attitude of trust and by setting personal example of worthy conduct. Hence in his pastoral letters and on other occasions he attached such powerful prominence to his deep concern about pouring into the hearts of the faithful the spirit of love and courage so that they could be living carriers of the most profound national traditions.

Meletius Smotrytsky’s creative output is almost entirely of a polemical character, since this form and style of scholarly discourse was predominantly used in his times. This method of writing brought him both notoriety and fame. He is to be credited for permanently accommodating the developments of humanistic ideas in the early Baroque period. On the other hand, his changing ideological and religious attitudes, a phenomenon at that time widely regarded as completely natural, led to his recognition as a poet of historical-cultural idealism and religious self-awareness of the Russian people. For Smotrytsky, participation in the life of the Orthodox Church and the Kiev Catholic traditions was the basic principle of scholarly reflection. And owing to his influence this standard also defined the direction of polemical religious conceptions in the first half of the seventeenth century.

Main of motives for opening XVI Benedict to the dialogue with the Russian Orthodox faith there was desire for the development of current effects of the common accord. Bearing in mind scale of requirements in the process of bilateral relations but all at the same time the Pope deep supported the essential need of the shared dialogue his continuation. Since the departure from the made once decision the only correct would mean stopping the process of bringing closer, as well as sure moving back oneself into the dark past. In addition XVI Benedict didn't undergo the vision of uniting based on simplified means, peculiarly the practical nature with the Russian Orthodox faith which could undermine the authority of the Church. But with the personal posture and the businesslike commitment shaped the authentic space for building living and credible partner reports.

The problem of unity within the Christian and interreligious rapprochement is in its essence complex and multifaceted. The attempt to look at this issue through the experience of the alienation complex wishes to cast some light on the factors that in principle exclude the possibility of reconciliation. The phenomenon of alienation in interdenominational relations is very often overlooked, and its consequences are hastily hushed up. However, a proper assessment of the situation of alienation in mutual relations between churches or religions should be a simple gesture of courage and willingness to make a change. Yet, this is not simple, all the more so when done at someone else’s request. It is still a long way to catharsis and a sense of fellowship with others, but this is what the Catholic Church and the entire Christianity needs. A genuine attitude of openness, ecumenical openness included, is what the Christian community is called to in order to perform its specific missions in the contemporary world.

Which the desire to know our personal relationship with the Creator may be followed by deeper personal and communal faith. This is the endless process, accompanied both the element symbol and the true worship.

Eastern Catholic Churches, due to their ritual diversity, make a separate contribution to the overall Christian heritage. Each Eastern rite exudes an independent and authentic collection of liturgical and cultic features typical of a particular traditional current. Having your own attributes of sacramental-ritual practice is inherent in the privilege of the particular Church and directly affects its identity. Although the external and ritual elements in the Eastern Church play an auxiliary role, they are necessary and irreplaceable. Their power of influence usually contributes to a more complete integration of the community of the faithful and its prayer union. It brings about a real fusion of these faithful around the idea of one and native rite, which appears to them as a life-giving spiritual force. The article addresses important aspects of the formation of a ritual identity within the Eastern Catholic Churches. At the same time, he points to pastoral conditions, which sometimes force Eastern Catholics to adapt to the type of ritual experiment.

The example of Mogila’a personal involvement in the cause of revival and reunification of Eastern Christianity in the Republic of Poland in the first half of the 17th century into one organism wins recognition among the supporters of the religious idea of unity. On the other hand, the methods that he used in the realization of his conception o f bringing the Churches together are an object of controversy among the Orthodox faithful. That is why today it is impossible to say univocally whether the Orthodox metropolitan can be a symbol of reconciliation.

The study presents selected aspects of the pastoral and writing output of Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. Obviously, they do not encompass or exhaust the complete range of his activity and genuine achievements during his ministry in the Greek Catholic Church. But it was not the purpose of this study to list all the accomplishments or to emphasize the general effect of the works of this outstanding hierarch of the Church. The overriding reason for bringing out Sheptytsky’s profile was the attempt to show him against the background of his epoch and its specific historical-religious circumstances, in order to draw attention to his stance as a person and Church hierarch in the context of essential historical challenges. The following issues are tackled: Sheptytsky’s impact on the shaping of organizational and spiritual matters of his Church, his initiation of the movement of renewal of the Eastern rite in the Eastern Catholic Church, his openness to cooperation and strengthening relations within the Christian communities. Last but not least, the author wished to accentuate the personal authenticity of the Metropolitan, who has not always been assessed in a reliable and objective way.

Summing up this brief reflection on the work of Christianization done by the Saints Cyril and Methodius, let me once again refer to the intuition of F. Grivec, who observed that the Apostles of Slavs are the great spiritual patron saints of equal rights for all nations and the universal unity of the Church. This is why they fully deserve to be adored by both the Church of East Orthodox tradition and the Church of West tradition. What is more, the concern of their whole lives for the unity of Christians should one day connect the East and the West into the one Christian Family.

Dzieło chrystianizacji nauczycieli Słowian stanowi w dziejach chrześcijaństwa jedyne w swoim rodzaju świadectwo posługi w nauczaniu ludzi i narodów wzajemnego poszanowania oraz zjednoczenia w wierze.

An important duty of man is proper communication and relativity to creation. This is due to the unique situation of our being “in the middle” and our vocation to go out “in the opposite direction”. However, personal faith in God becomes a particularly ennobling factor, as it somehow deepens the human desire for closeness and solidarity with the whole created reality. Through true openness to the visible world, we learn more about the relationship between the individual and the community, as well between the human community and the whole creation. Ultimately, we are trying to take up the challenge of dealing responsibly with nature as a unique value today and with the right to continue in the future.

The article undertakes to present the essential qualities of Patriarch Bartholomew's pastoral visit to Ukraine, which are largely contained in his messages and speeches. The content presented will remain a source of interpretation and synthesis of the most important message of the head of Orthodoxy addressed to the community of the autocephalous Church of Kiev and the entire society. We will be interested mainly in four speeches by the patriarch during: thanksgiving "doxology", liturgical assembly, the ceremony of awarding the doctorate honoris causa and a meeting with the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations.

Naszemu zainteresowaniu będą podlegać przede wszystkim cztery wystąpienia patriarchy: dziękczynna „doksologia”, zgromadzenie liturgiczne, uroczystość nadania doktoratu honoris causa i spotkanie z Ogólnoukraińską Radą Kościołów i Organizacji Religijnych.

The presented here brief overview of the historical role of the spiritual leader of the Greek Catholic Church of the 20th century Josyf Slipyj is primarily aimed at paying him proper tribute on the 120th anniversary of his birth, but it is also an attempt to look at his person in a broader historical and ecclesial context. Despite his enormous contribution to a comprehensive development of the Eastern Catholic Church of the Kiev tradition and the empowerment of Eastern Catholic communities, the person of Slipyj is still insufficiently recognized both in his own country and in the world. In addition, especially in the Orthodox environment he sometimes happens to be seen as a staunch or even fanatical defender of the Catholic vision of the universality of the Church, which today is largely at odds with the principle of an open ecumenical activity. However, this is an isolated position, which has no grounds in the actual state of matters as can be concluded even from this article.

Structure of the iconographic decoration of the orthodox church makes the performance of the appropriate theological and symbolic canon, established for each of its parts and harmonizing with the active liturgical activity. The most important elements of the decoration, which dominate since XI century remain invariable and during few subsequent centuries have only been made more perfect. The end of XVII century has been assumed as the final period in which comprehensive iconographic vision of the orthodox church was shaped. The icon, as understood by the eastern theology, is the expression of charismatic consciousness of the Church as a whole in relation to the transcendental reality. It is not treated only as the work of the individual creative imagination, allowed only for the aesthetic experience of an individual, but as a value of the universal nature. Visible figure of the orthodox church and symbolic form its interior always make a full harmony.

The article deals with the problem of the disintegration of the Catholic-Orthodox dialogue due to the position of the Moscow Orthodox Patriarchate, which supports the current military aggression in Ukraine. The basis for the reflection were issues related to: the prospect of bilateral dialogue based on the current model of ecumenical cooperation between the Vatican and Moscow; the specificity of historical ties between Moscow Orthodoxy and Ukrainian Orthodoxy; seeking agreement on the basis of common arrangements and gestures of goodwill and a different optics of the phenomenon of war and the associated responsibility. The developed analysis of the above-mentioned aspects formulates an appropriate view of the nature and meaning of Catholic-Orthodox relations, including Catholic-Orthodox-Moscow and Orthodox-Moscow-Ukrainian relations.

Pope Francis in his encyclical reminded us that Lumen fidei contains abundant material truth about the need of the development of a comprehensive religious awareness based on man’s inborn senses. Simultaneously he pointed at their grounding and fulfillment in a person’s practical choices, particularly those pertaining to confidence in and faithfulness to God. Here actual exercise of the attributes of listening and seeing opens the prospect of the perception of something more besides the materially discernible object. This creates the possibility of bringing closer to view the supernatural reality, and at the same time frees a person from a unilateral attachment to transient values. Finally, the gift of listening and seeing performs the only and unique function of actively enriching the inner life of the individual human with the presence and action of God.

The visit of patriarch Bartholomew I in Ukraine in its entirety should be assessed as truly positive and fruitful. His relatively short stay among the Orthodox believers allowed them to restore new trust and hope for Patriarchate of Constantinople. The hierarch himself could better get to know mood and intentions of the local Christians. At the same time he could express those important words of reassurance: „The Mother-Church of Constantinople suffers together with the daughter – Ukrainian Church from dangerous divisions. (...) Thus, we are forced by invitation (prosklesis) to possibly quickly overcome the division which was the result of complexity of our time”. In the patriarch’s opinion, that is what we are forced to do by common baptism, which gathers us in one place and gives us possibility to participate in a common gathering around the Eucharist altar of God.
