This article aims to analyze and evaluate the prospects for employment restructuring in the energy sector in Poland and characterize changes in the level and structure of employment in the Polish energy sector. Due to cost, efficiency and scale of investment needed restructuring of employment in the industry seems to be fully justified. The potential reduction of employment in the Polish power sector is large. In energy sector, in the future, there will be huge changes in the structure of energy production. They will lead to reduction of employment in great-scale, corporational power industry. There will be significant demand for specialists in the field of new power technologies, logistics and power farming. This refer to both specialists in the field of design, research and development as well as exploitation.

Celem opracowania jest identyfikacja podstawowych barier i korzyści zrównoważonego rozwoju gmin z punktu widzenia władz oraz wskazanie głównych kierunków i obszarów działań władzy publicznej w zakresie technicznych i środowiskowych usług publicznych. W artykule omówiono wyniki badań empirycznych przeprowadzonych w 2015 r. wśród gmin województwa wielkopolskiego, śląskiego i podlaskiego. Podstawowym wnioskiem, jaki nasuwa się po przeprowadzonej analizie, jest stwierdzenie, że skuteczna realizacja polityki opartej na zasadach zrównoważonego rozwoju zależy w dużej mierze od świadomości i zaangażowania władz lokalnych. W wielu gminach nie ma równowagi między ładem gospodarczym, społecznym i środowiskowym, a działania mające na celu poprawę jakości życia mieszkańców i programowanie zrównoważonego rozwoju często pozostają w sferze deklaracji.

The aim of this study is to identify the main barriers municipalities face and the benefits they gain from implementing sustainable development from authorities point of view. The paper also presents the main directions and activities public authorities have implemented in technical and environmental public services. It also discusses the results of empirical research conducted in 2015 in municipalities in the voivodeships of Wielkopolska, Silesia and Podlasie. The main conclusion of the research is that effectively implementing sustainable development policy largely depends on the awareness and involvement of local authorities. The paper shows that in many municipalities, economic, social and environmental development factors aren’t balanced. Moreover, sustainable development programming and activity should improve the quality of life for inhabitants, but they often fail to leave the planning stage.

This article analyses the main problems and challenges of corporate social responsibility in energy sector. Corporate social responsibility has emerged as a business approach for addressing the social and environmental impact of company activities. Development of socially responsible business in energy sector can provide for the implementation of sustainable energy development. The purpose of this article is to present the concept and the role of corporate social responsibility in the creation of development strategies of energy companies. The article investigates the key areas of CSR policies where energy companies are expected to make a positive contribution: improvements in environmental performance, development and governance.

Poziom konsumpcji energii staje się kluczowym czynnikiem wpływającym na ogólny system kosztów dostaw energii oraz wpływa na kształtowanie się poziomu emisji zanieczyszczeń szkodliwych dla zdrowia i środowiska naturalnego. Realizacja wzorców zrównoważonej konsumpcji przez gospodarstwa domowe wymaga aktywnej polityki państwa. Istotnym problemem, w aspekcie działań zmierzających do zwiększenia efektywności wykorzystania energii, wydaje się nacisk na zwiększenie świadomości społecznej zmierzający do oszczędzania energii. Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja indywidualnych zachowań proekologicznych konsumentów energii w województwie śląskim oraz ocena poziomu świadomości i podejmowanych decyzji gospodarstw domowych związanych z konsumpcją energii w regionie w kontekście zrównoważonego rozwoju.

The level of energy consumption is becoming a key factor in the overall cost of energy supply system and the overall levels of emissions harmful to health and the environment. The implementation of sustainable consumption patterns by households requires an active state policy. An important problem in the context of efforts to increase the energy efficiency, seems to focus on raising public awareness leading to saving energy. The aim of this article is to identify the individual ecological behaviour of energy consumers in the Silesian Voivodeship, and to assess the level of awareness and decision-making related to household energy consumption in the region in the context of sustainable development.

Ecosystem services are an important framework for linking ecological infrastructure to urban social infrastructure, which can benefit people and ecosystems. Designing, planning and managing of complex urban systems for health and wellbeing requires urban ecosystems that are both immune to systemic changes and managed sustainably. Literature review reveals that so far only several researchers have focused on urban ecosystem services (UES). The paper aims at assessing the importance of ecosystem services at the local level with an emphasis on urbanized areas. The basic conditions and barriers to the implementation of the concept of ecosystem services in the EU policy and local development have also been identified. The paper also presents solutions concerning the creation of integrated systems of providing such services by local governments and their monitoring.
