Including innovation in a library can be associated most with the use of new technologies to realize services through among others accessing digitalization devices, using new generation information search systems, using mobile applications, e-books etc. In this article the authors presented an innovative approach in realizing one of the important functions of the library - scientific-cultural activity. To be more precise, to plan events and initiatives based on the socalled Business Model Canvas, also known as business model groundwork. The adaptation of the template to the library goals was described on an example of a cyclic event, realized by the Main Library of the Pedagogical University in Cracow, entitled Night in a library. The process of planning a cycle of meetings, which took place on the 26 October 2016 under a common title "Night in a library: Georgian culture".
