Ważnym aspektem pracy osób związanych z książką jest promocja czytelnictwa, szczególnie w dobie spadku jego poziomu w Polsce. Narzędziem wspomagającym popularyzację czytelnictwa może być prasa regionalna. W artykule przeanalizowano 23 tytuły (451 numerów) czasopism regionalistycznych Podbeskidzia (wydań elektronicznych) ukazujących się w latach 2015–2016, pod kątem obecności w nich tekstów promujących bibliotekę, książkę i czytelnictwo na tym terenie. Na początku artykułu wyjaśniono terminy „prasa regionalna” i „czasopismo regionalistyczne”. Następnie przedstawiono wyniki analizy badanych czasopism. Zwrócono uwagę m.in. na liczbę tekstów w każdym z tytułów, liczbę tekstów przypadającą na jeden numer, formę wypowiedzi, poruszane tematy.

An important aspect of the work of people associated with books has to do with the promotion of readership, especially considering the decline of the number of people who read books in Poland. An instrument which supports the popularisation of readership may be constituted by the regional press. The article analysed 23 regional periodicals (451 issues) of the Podbeskidzie region (electronic editions) which appeared in 2015–2016 in terms of the presence of texts which promote libraries, books and readership in this area. At the beginning of the article there is an explanation of the terms prasa regionalna [regional press] and czasopismo regionalistyczne [a regional periodical]. This part is followed by a presentation of the results of the analysis of the periodicals in question. Attention was devoted inter alia to the number of texts which fall into each of the 23 titles, the form of expression and the subject matter.
