Warunkiem sprawnego działania organizacji gospodarczych jest efektywnie zaprojektowany i funkcjonujący system logistyczny. Celem artykułu jest ukazanie koncepcji Internetu rzeczy w ramach rosnącej roli rozwiązań e-logistyki w rozwoju organizacji inteligentnych. Po ogólnej charakterystyce organizacji inteligentnej odniesiono się do rozwiązań e-logistyki w zakresie wybranych rozwiązań teleinformatycznych (ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem Internetu rzeczy) jako swoistego ekosystemu teleinformatycznego. W końcowej części ukazano perspektywy rozwojowe e-logistyki, a szczególnie Internetu rzeczy) w rozwoju organizacji inteligentnych.

E-logistics is based on organization-wide ICT-systems of interconnected solutions primarily related to operations. By integrating these and other potentially critical business functions, e-logistics is a powerful tool for integrating and managing information to ultimately drive greater business performance and efficiency. But like so many other aspects of information technology, e-logistics is always evolving and successful ICT professionals are highly conscious of the need for credible information on the trends and innovations that are reshaping, and can and will reshape the landscape of e-logistics use and implementation. The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable it to achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with the manufacturer, operator and/or other connected devices. Each thing is uniquely identifiable through its embedded computing system but is able to interoperate within the existing Internet infrastructure.
