Assessing the Impact of Erp Implementation in the small Enterprises

For a SME (small and medium-size enterprise) to operate competitively in an international and local market, it is necessary for it to deal with its tasks in an efficient and practical way; this can be achieved by the systematic analysis of the undertaken tasks in relation to the company’s organizational and economical ability for their completion. The author suggests in this paper that the assessment of such an implementation depends on a firm's intention to use the ERP system to achieve strategic goals. The author discusses the issue of the Balance Scorecard method being used to assess the impact of an ERP system implementation on the performance of a small service enterprise. Using a research results, the author illustrates the possibility to assess the implementation of an ERP system in the small enterprises.

Using cloud computing with web technology affects the scalability, reliability and availability of information and data systems, often reducing the cost of organization. The use and transfer to the cloud of IT systems, including the ERP, can be a source of many problems and difficulties. The aim of the article is, apart from theoretical considerations, an indication of how Polish companies perceive the advantages and barriers of implementation cloud based ERP. The article presents two case studies from Polish companies.

Przenoszenie do chmury systemów informatycznych (w tym klasy ERP) jest złożonym procesem i może być źródłem wielu problemów i trudności. Celem artykułu, oprócz rozważań teoretycznych, jest wskazanie, jakie zalety i bariery napotykają polskie firmy podczas wdrażania rozwiązań chmury obliczeniowej w swojej działalności. Zdefiniowanie wniosków umożliwiła analiza dwóch studiów przypadku.

Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie funkcjonowania systemu Enterprise Resource Planning w lo-gistyce przedsiębiorstw. W pierwszej części artykułu uwagę skupiono na pojęciu systemu logistyki. Ponadto, wskazano oraz opisano podsystemy logistyki dokonując ich charakterystyki. W kolejnej czę-ści artykułu dokonano charakterystyki zintegrowanego systemu informatycznego Enterprise Resource Planning z przedstawieniem definicji, głównych założeń oraz zasad funkcjonowania. Ponadto, wska-zano czynniki determinujące efektywne jego wdrożenie i wykorzystanie. W ostatniej części artykułu przedstawiono praktyczne wdrożenie systemu klasy ERP na przykładzie wdrożeń firmy DB Schenker Logistics i RAW-POL wskazując korzyści, jakie organizacje odniosły dzięki wdrożeniu zintegrowanych systemów informatycznych.

The aim of the article is to present the functioning of the Enterprise Resource Planning system in Logistics area of companies. In the first part of the article the attention was focused on the concept of the logistics system. Furthermore, logistics subsystems have been indicated and also described. In the next part of the article the characteristics of an integrated information system ERP has been made. It included the definition, the main objectives and principles of functioning. Furthermore, factors deter-mining effective implementation and usage of ERP systems have been indicated. In the last part of the article the practical implementations of the ERP system in DB Schenker Logistics and RAW-POL have been described. Case studies indicated the benefits that organizations achieved due implementation of integrated information systems.

Narzędzia planowania dostępne w takich systemach umożliwiają zbudowanie harmonogramu zaopatrzenia, jeśli dla poszczególnych produktów znane są dane odnoszące się do aktualnego popytu oraz/ lub prognozy.
