Niniejszy artykuł opisuje historię procesu ewangelizacji Amazonii ekwadorskiej. Autor przedstawia historyczny kontekst oraz ogólny rozwój misji na wschodnich terenach Ekwadoru. Została opisana także posługa misyjna salezjanów w Amazonii ekwadorskiej. Ukazano ich historię i rozwój pracy misyjnej. Przedstawiono działalność duszpasterską i edukacyjną wśród Indian Shuar i Achuar, a także podkreślono znaczący wkład salezjanów w rozwój intelektualny i duchowy rdzennych ludności zamieszkujących Amazonię ekwadorską. Zwrócono również w artykule uwagę na promowanie przez salezjanów bogactwa kulturowego i językowego rdzennych ludności zamieszkujących wschodnie obszary obecnego Ekwadoru.

Presented article shows an account of the history of the evangelization process of the Ecuadorian Amazon. The author presents the historical context and general development of the mission in eastern Ecuador. The missionary service of the Salesians in the Ecuadorian Amazon was described. Their history and development of missionary work were also shown. The pastoral and educational activities among the Shuar and Achuar Indians were presented as well as the significant contribution of the Salesians to the intellectual and spiritual development of the indigenous peoples living in the Ecuadorian Amazon was highlighted. The article also draws attention to the Salesians’ promotion of the cultural and linguistic richness of the indigenous peoples living in the eastern areas of today’s Ecuador.
