The Pontifical Biblical Commission’s document The Jewish People and their Sacred Scriptures in the Christian Bible, calls attention to a threefold connection between the two parts of the Christian Bible: continuity, discontinuity, and newness. The paper offers an analysis of a passage as an example of this relationship. The Epistle to the Hebrews (11:8–22) gives a particular emphasis to the desires of the patriarchs among other attitudes of the heroes of faith. They were looking for what was promised to them and desired by them: a city with the solid foundations planned and built by God. Now these desires can be fulfilled: the everlasting life with God is offered to all who believe in Jesus Christ.

The study concerns the first mentions of the righteous kingdom and the love of justice in the Letter to the Hebrews. The meaning of the analyzed terms is built by their author on the comparison between Son’s immutability and His superiority to the nature and position of angels (1:8-9). Son’s love of justice is not limited to His passion and death, but is manifested through everything that preceded His anointing as the King of justice. This manifestation makes Him the example of the justice that the Christian are called to exhibit in their lives.

The aim of this article is to add two qualifications to the discussion on the topic of Eucharistic allusions in the Epistle to the Hebrews as well as to provide an analysis of two fragments of the epistle that take these qualifications into account. The first is the proposal of the “defense of a holy formula” expressed by Joachim Jeremias; the second is understanding Christ’s sacrifice in Hebrews essentially not in categories of death on the Cross but of offering up the resurrected Christ in heaven according to David Moffitt’s explanation. The fragments of the epistle under discussion are Hebrews 9 : 19–22 and 13 : 9–13.

Omawiane fragmenty Listu to Hbr 9, 19–22 i 13, 9–13.

The article is intended to answer the question – what is the connection of the priesthood of Jesus Christ with his Heart, as well as with our ministerial „priesthood on design of the Heart of Jesus”. He points to the fact that the new feast of Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Eternal High Priest is thoroughly christological, therefore it was said in the history of the cult of the Heart of Jesus about His priestly Heart, especially in the tradition of the French school of Berullian spirituality, from which the spirituality of L. Dehon grows. All the reflections are based on the inspirations flowing from the texts of the Holy Mass on Our Lord Jesus Christ, The Eternal High Priest, and especially his biblical readings, from where the direction for the formation to the priesthood on design of the Heart of Jesus. These liturgical and biblical texts complement the understanding of the priesthood in the light of Fr. Leon Dehon, and can give it new dynamism and direction for further development.
