In recent years the model of nutrition has changed, consumers prefer food that is healthy and easier to prepare for consumption. This has resulted in increased demand for food items, including frozen vegetables. The frozen foods industry is considered one of the most dynamically developing in the food industry, with the frozen vegetables offer expanding ever more widely. The most commonly consumed and therefore frequently produced frozen vegetables are frozen carrots, beans and broccoli. The study presents selected determinants of the development of the frozen food market, including price, product quality, environmental temperature, season, trends in the agricultural-food market and customer tastes. It presents the most frequently chosen frozen food brands. The objective is to analyse the size of sale, and the volume of exports and imports of frozen vegetable products.

Food market is a specific market segment which is very sensitive to the influence of different factors, both economical and environmental ones. The article's thesis is that the factor leading and organizing the market should be the demand, the development of which is closely connected to the general macro-economic situation in the economy. The purpose of the years 2004-2006. Focusing on some basic determinants of this growth, i.e. GDP, global personal income of the population, household income and food prices, the authoress discussed the influence of this factor on the amount of expenditures and quantitative food consumption in the period mentioned, and indicated the directions of food demand expected in 2007.
