Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie aktualnego stanu, problemów oraz perspektyw organizacji nauki języka polskiego w szkolnictwie publicznym Niemiec. Takie ukierunkowanie poszukiwań uwzględnia specyficzną sytuację Polaków w Niemczech i brak statusu mniejszości narodowej. Fakt ten ma daleko idące konsekwencje edukacyjne w tworzeniu możliwości rozwoju nowych form organizacyjnych nauki języka polskiego w Niemczech jedynie w ramach aktualnie obowiązującego prawa i dotyczy wzmacniania oferty organizacyjnej nauki języka polskiego jedynie jako języka obcego. Rezultaty opracowania ukierunkowane na przedstawienie współczesnych uwarunkowań, problemów i rozwiązań organizacyjnych nauczania języka polskiego w szkołach publicznych w Niemczech wpisują się w otwartą debatą na temat statusu Polaków w Niemczech, związaną z ich staraniami o posiadanie statusu mniejszości narodowej. Działania i inicjatywy podejmowane są również przez Polaków mieszkających w Niemczech, tak jak przez polski rząd.

The goal of the article is to present the contemporary condition, problems and views of organisation of teaching Polish in public, German, education system. The research include the specific situation of Polish people living in Germany, and the lack of the status of a national minority. According to the applicable education law in Germany, the fact (the lack of a status of a national minority) results that Polish can be taught only as a foreign language in German schools. The goal of the elaboration is to present the contemporary condition, problems and views of organisation of teaching Polish in public schools in Germany. The research is conducted due to the open debate about the status of Polish people in Germany and their endeavour to posses the the status of a national minority. The actions and initiatives are taken as well by Polish people living in Germany, as by the Polish Government.
