The purpose of this article is, inter alia, to determine whether it is possible to define the time that has elapsed since the last shot from a firearm, based on chemical tests of the post-firing residue remaining in the interior of the gun barrel after combustion of gunpowder and firing the primer mass, using Griess reagent. The article also presents the firearm examination findings related to the use of Griess reagent, including the risk of falsification of the results due to previous use of red fluorescent dye in dactyloscopic firearm examinations.

Celem artykułu jest m.in. ustalenie, czy istnieje możliwość określenia czasu, jaki upłynął od oddania ostatniego strzału z broni palnej, na podstawie badań chemicznych osadu powystrzałowego, pozostałego w przewodzie lufy broni po spaleniu prochu strzelniczego oraz odpaleniu masy spłonkowej, za pomocą odczynnika Griessa. W artykule przedstawiono ponadto wynikłe w toku badań bronioznawczych spostrzeżenia związane ze stosowaniem odczynnika Griessa, w tym niebezpieczeństwo zafałszowania wyników na skutek uprzedniego użycia czerwonego barwnika fluorescencyjnego w daktyloskopijnych badaniach broni palnej.
