EN
The article deals with the problems of historical pedeutology. It presents the views of an eminent philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer concerning the tusks and duties of academic teachers. It is based on primary sources, mostly Gadamer’s publications and relevant memories. The text consists of two parts. The first part contains a presentation of Gadamer’s life and a reconstruction of his views on being a academic master in a university. It shows Gadamer’s academic teachers, as well as academics with whom he collaborated as university professor. The second part of the text offers a presentation of different opinions and memories of Gadamer’s academic activity. The article ends with an attempt to characterize Gadamers’s standpoint concerning the dignity of the academic profession.
