Effective inter-sector cooperation requires appropriate communication channels which all partners can use. The paper reviews currently available communication channels, identifies preferred communication methods of organisations in various sectors of the economy, and proposes a computational model to streamline inter-sector cooperation. The author devotes particular attention to the ways in which modern communication channels and management algorithms for information flow could be used to improve the transfer of information across sectors.

The article reflects and evaluates some forms and results of the cooperation between the academic workplace of the Institute of Ethnology of SAS, the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava, and the museums in Slovakia in the 1970s - 1980s. The authoress points out that the ethnologists from academic environment and the ethnologists working in museums, first of all in the regional museums, may use different methodological approaches in the study of the material objects. She considers new opportunities in scientific work in connection with changes in society after the year 1989 in Slovakia and the generation change of the ethnologists in the compared institutions.
