For many years all over the world there have been discussions on the validity and the essence of media education understood as a subject in the education system. The publication entitled ‘Media and Information Literacy. Curriculum for Teachers’ undoubtedly constitutes an interesting voice in this debate. This publication, which in its essence is a curriculum for teachers, is addressed most of all to the member states of UNESCO and constitutes the continuation of the guidelines included in the Declaration of Grünwald (1982), Declaration of Alexandria (2005) and the meeting in Paris (2007). This document is ground-breaking for two reasons (p. 11). The first reason concerns the holistic conception of all existing modern mass media whereas the second one refers to the recipients –teachers for whom this document, by principle, is designed to be the subject of systematic education and, as a consequence, to change the mentality of millions of students.

The rapid development of technology is one of the major challenges of today’s organizations. The unprecedented capabilities offered by technology simultaneously create the demands of constant change and development of organizations themselves and their employees. For many years human-technology interaction in organization have remained in focus of interdiciplinary resarch, which resulted in several theories and models explaining technology acceptance. The aim of this paper is to present the state of the art in technology acceptance research and to introduce technology readiness theory (Parasuraman, 2000). Also the practical implications of technology readiness for human resources management will be discussed.

The sample of the study consisted of (120) male and female teachers from Irbid district, following validation, the teachers were provided with a questionnaire which included two fields; knowledge economy and information technology. The results showed that the ability of physical education teachers in applying the new curricula in the field of the knowledge economy and information technology was high, although the field of information technology ranked first, followed by the field of knowledge economy. Also, there were significant differences according to variable of experience when measuring the ability of physical education teachers in the domain of information technology in favor of the group with 10 years and more experience. However, there were no statistically significant differences in the variable of experience in the domain of knowledge economy. The study suggests reviewing the mechanism of applying the new developed curriculum according to the knowledge economy, and holding training sessions before and after starting to build a new curriculum. Conducting information technology courses in accordance with new curricula are suggested, and also that the Ministry of Education in Jordan must provide the necessary facilities, such as halls and technology devices.

Trudno wyobrazić sobie rozwój firmy wykluczającej wykorzystywanie najnowszych technologii do codziennej pracy.

The article presents the following hypothesis: currently we are witnessing a creation of a new management concept in organizational science and management. This concept, which was created after the system concept, can be called the information or knowledge management concept. It was created and is developing due to the development of IT (Information Technology). It is the result of a certain need connected with the development of management science and progress in economical sciences and IT technologies. Problems of electronic economy, the most dynamically developing branch of global economy, require quite a different approach than in current management methods. Therefore the development of this concept is linked with the development of IT and management methods connected with it.

The contemporary management cannot exist without IT support. In fact, every organization depends on integrated software business solutions. What does it mean for managers and scientists at the beginning of XXI century? How to implement the state-of-the-art computer technology and maintain good „old fashion” management styles and principles? How to deal with so called „archaic” management model in theory and practice today? In this paper the author presents different points of view, and different perspectives in delivering sound answers. He differentiates method and technique in IT implementation process and points out key problems and barriers in delivering ERP software solutions.

Background: The direction of global goods flows and the growth of nodes in trading networks have a significant impact on the development of logistics HUBs. The turbulent economic processes currently occurring in the world, the effects of globalization and “glocalization”, customer expectations and changing purchasing habits, and the increasingly deferred differentiated solutions in supply chains have a major influence on the emergence and spread of new technology solutions in the delivery of goods. Results: This change has a significant impact on logistics processes as they face changing tasks and challenges in supply chain management. The authors intend to address this impact in their article, which also takes into account the results of international scientific papers. With the onset of the new millennium supply chains became more complex. The changes in the volume and geographical shift of goods that are traded redefine the topology of the world’s goods flow distribution. By presenting a deeper analysis of the effects, this article approaches the above-mentioned considerations from various perspectives; as yet we cannot judge which of these considerations will be the strongest, nor how the main priorities will develop. Conclusion: The best answer can only be given by future events, although the authors’ modelling of the impacts and the evaluation of potential trends may indicate certain favoured directions. We can also conclude that information technology tools have a great influence on boosting economic processes and faster networking.

Dokonując analizy rozwoju informatycznego gospodarstw domowych i przedsiębiorców w Polsce i UE, rozważono perspektywy promocji działalności turystycznej, wskazując konkretnych odbiorców informacji turystycznej.

At the end of the last century, IT techniques have become popular in tourist activities. At the scientific conference "The role of tourism in the development of the region" (Bytów 1996), the importance of the Internet was postulated. More than 20 years ago, the computerization of the tourism industry concerned only the creation of office systems. Currently, the basic carrier of tourist promotion are commercial IT services and the Internet. Based on the retrospection, the author presents current technical and IT trends in tourism.

The authors analyse some aspects of intercultural pedagogy and focus on the possibilities of developing children’s cultural awareness and intercultural competence. They emphasise the broad educational significance of projects which involve expanding national identity as well as cooperation across countries and the exchange of knowledge. As experience and emotional involvement are needed by children in their learning, the projects are based on Internet use (e.g. eTwinning projects), DVD or photo-essays. The paper presents several examples of European projects, from which many of the pedagogical ideas can easily be adopted in teaching and young learner education.
