W artykule został przedstawiony przegląd międzynarodowych trybunałów karnych ze wskazaniem na charakter stosowanych przez te instytucje sankcji.

The judgment delivered by the International Military Tribunal (IMT) in October 1946, marked the birth of an international criminal justice system, the system which is now just over 65 years old. On this occasion a global debate on the doctrine of international criminal law and on the functioning of international courts and tribunals has been initiated. The goal of this article is to contribute to those deliberations by comparing sanctions envisioned in the statutes of international tribunals and, as a result, applied by them.
