Mikro, małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa (MŚP) są podstawą funkcjonowania współczesnych gospodarek europejskich, stanowią bowiem główne źródło wzrostu, innowacji i zatrudnienia. Pomimo coraz większego zainteresowania tematyką makroekonomicznego znaczenia sektora MŚP, przedsiębiorstwa te wciąż napotykają na wiele barier utrudniających bądź wręcz uniemożliwiających ich powstawanie i rozwój. Najważniejszą z nich jest występowanie luki kapitałowej, co oznacza brak możliwości zewnętrznego finansowania, w szczególności przedsiębiorstw znajdujących się w początkowych fazach rozwoju. Obecnie poszukuje się rozwiązań mających ułatwić przedsiębiorstwom sektora MŚP dostęp do kapitału zewnętrznego. Niewątpliwie, jednym z nich z nich jest zwiększenie udziału instrumentów inżynierii finansowej w systemie dystrybucji środków unijnych. W niniejszym referacie zostanie przedstawiona istota i znaczenie instrumentów inżynierii finansowej oraz zasady ich funkcjonowania i wdrażania w sektorze MŚP na przykładzie Inicjatywy JEREMIE.

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SME’s) give the basis and are responsible for the development of today’s European economy. Despite its role, SME’s must cope with many obstacles and barriers limiting their growth. One of the most important problems for them is a lack of capital, which is necessary for their dynamic development. Demand for capital and skill of its obtaining is an element of competition advantage. Lack of internal capital is a reason to searching capital outside enterprise. However, many of European countries try to find solutions to this problem. Undoubtedly, the task may be easier thanks to the financial engineering instruments especially for SME’s which could not obtain capital from the bank sector and the commercial market. In the article there are presented aspects concerning the use of financial engineering instruments, as a form of financing SME’s based on JEREMIE Initiative.
