The article discusses five manuscript plans of Kamianets-Podilskyi which are present in Berlin. Four of them are available in the collections of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin (The Berlin State Library) and one – at the Geheimes Staatsarchiv Preußischer Kulturbesits (Secret State Archive of Prussian Cultural Heritage). Despite the fact that the list of maps and plans of areas present in the former socialist countries in Europe was published in 1976, these plans remained unknown to both, Polish and Ukrainian researchers analysing the history of fortification. Three of the discussed four plans are especially important. The first one is the plan by Christian Dahlke, an engineer who fortified Kamianets-Podilskyi, the later commanding officer of this fortress. The second one is an anonymous plan from 1740, most probably created during the inspection of the fortress reinforcements which was carried out by Saxon engineers. The third one is the plan by G. de Hundt. Identical versions of this plan are located in Cracow, in Vienna and in Moscow. Due to the fact that both, Austria as well as Russia, conducted military activities in Podolia in the 18th century, nearly identical plans of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Fortress, present in the capitals of those countries, indicate that G. de Hundt worked not only for the Polish king, but also for foreign intelligences.

The paper discusses a plan of the Kamianets-Podilskyi fortress from the year 1773, which has not been known until now. The performed analyses of the biographical notes of the Reibnitz family, demonstrated that the most probable author is Ferdinand Friedrich Christoph von Reibnitz, a standard-bearer and later captain of the regiment of royal infantry. The descriptions in the plan and the legend were made in German. The shape of the city and of the castles is represented in a very deformed way, however, the plan includes many details of the city surroundings, such as the locations of windmills or of the Evangelical and Jewish cemeteries. The errors in the representation of both castles, the new one and the old one, suggest that the discussed plan is a copy of the plan kept in Berlin, at the Prussian Privy State Archives.

The article examines the state of music education in Podillia region in the XIX century, since at that time it existed at the level of home music playing, well-known musicians-pedagogues from Europe to the local nobility’s houses were invited. Mostly music education in Podillia region was concentrated in the Polish landlord’s estates, but eventually the cultural life of the land passes to another level of its existence. At the beginning of the XX century Kamianets-Podilskyi was known in Podillia region not only as economic but also as cultural center, where touring musicians, music theaters came. There were performances of amateur artists, who were largely trained by touring musicians. Therefore, there was the need to establish specialized cultural education institution in which it was possible to obtain the necessary knowledge on music art. The European music school and its influence on the formation of professional music pedagogy in Podillia region have been analyzed. It is due to the professional experience gained by the Podillia region musician-pedagogue Tadeusz Ganitskyi in Europe, the music school in Kamianets-Podilskyi was opened. The first pedagogical achievements in the city of Łódź in Poland, prompted the musician to open the same institution on his native land. That is why in the first half of the XX century in Kamianets-Podilskyi there was the opening of the first music school, headed by Tadeusz Ganitskyi. The main task of the article is to study the pedagogical activity of the musician-pedagogue Tadeusz Ganitskyi in various periods of his life and work. In the article the research is carried out with the help of theoretical methods, such as the method of analysis, the method of synthesis, the method of generalization, as well as the classification and systematization of theoretical information on this subject. Special attention is paid to the achievements of the education institution in the city of Łódź. The following researchers studied this problem:M. Pecheniuk, A. Garmel, F. Ernst, D. Shcherbakovskyi, V. Ivanov, M. Yarova, O. Pazhymskyi, M. Pecheniuk, R. Hutsal. Having considered the activity of Tadeusz Ganitskyi’s music school in Poland in detail, we conclude that thanks to the pedagogical experience gained in Europe, he raised music education to the new level of its existence. The period of formation of professional music art in Podillia region began, which influenced the music pedagogy of the whole Ukraine. That is why this issue requires further research.

The key and basic problem in doing research about the history of the Catholic Church of Latin rite in the eastern regions of the Republic of Both Nations (the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth), after the regions of the Republic were included into Russian Empire, is verification of information about the changes in administrative division, numbers of parishes, churches and chapels and the number of clergy and the faithful. The difficulties refer to period 1772–1939. The data to which the researchers are usually referring were determined on the basis of fragmentary sources from Polish and West-European archives, scientific periodicals and old publications of historians. The paper’s aim is to verify the essential information about the diocese of Kamyanets, for the period before the onset of the Russian repressions following the November Uprising.

The text presents three cases of criminal trials held in the 1930s against the Polish population remaining in Soviet Ukraine (regions of Vinnytsia, Odesa, and Kamianets-Podilskyi). All ended with sentences of death by firing squad. Years later, the murdered were recognised as victims of the totalitarian system, thus obtaining posthumous rehabilitation and symbolic sentence exoneration.

Tekst przedstawia trzy przypadki śledztw karnych toczonych w latach trzydziestych XX w. przeciwko ludności polskiej pozostałej na Ukrainie Radzieckiej (Winnica, Odessa, Kamieniec Podolski). Wszystkie zakończyły się wyrokami skazującymi na śmierć przez rozstrzelanie. Po latach zamordowani zostali uznani za ofiary systemu totalitarnego, uzyskując tym samym pośmiertną (symboliczną) rehabilitację.
