The author describes the dialect of the municipality of Kaluza which is situated in the Uh dialectal area. The origin of the municipality's toponym is explained and the linguistic traits of the local dialect are characterized. These traits integrate the dialect into the Slovak linguistic area. Attention is also drawn to some of the developmental residues of the dialectal area as they are preserved in the Uh dialect as well as in the Sub-Vihorlat group of the Sotak dialects. The appendix contains a transcription of two folk narratives in the described dialect.
