The present article demonstrates that the Japanese clausal structure with ni- and o-marked NPs in the object position is identifiable as a ditransitive construction with two major sense types: CHANGE-IN-POSSESSION and CHANGE-IN-LOCATION SENSES, and it points out that those sense types are cross-linguistically associated with ditransitive constructions in different languages like English and Ainu. It further argues that the association is motivated by the fact that the sense types largely correspond to basic or prototypical 'human interaction' and 'object manipulation' (Tuggy 1998) with three participants.

The study deals with the relationship of contemporary Slovak film to place in terms of reduction of interest in ethnographic location. Employing the terminology of anthropologist Marc Auge, it uses the example of his analysis of non-places as typical signs of super modernity to examine changes in relation to location in Slovak cinematography after 2001. The analysis of the films 'Two Syllables Behind', 'Return of the Storks', 'It Will Stay Between Us' and 'Other Worlds' points to the relationship between the representation of super modern relations (or even directly non-places) and the processes of European integration, accompanied by the crisis of national identity.

One of the negative effects of the dynamic social and economic development is a consistent increase in the number of mental disorder cases, particularly depression, neurosis and schizophrenia. In view of the above, the aim of this paper is to identify and characterise the factors which should govern the location of psychiatric health care facilities. The author also attempts to distinguish between general and specific location prerequisites, and to classify them according to importance, the criterion being people's welfare and not the profitability of undertaking.

In the submitted contribution, the authors focus on the archaeological sites from the Migration and the Avar Khaganate periods. They are in conflict with the current territorial and administrative division of the Slovak Republic. The authors submitted the register of sites in an alphabetical order, which are either incorrect localized, or are listed under wrong names in the literature, respectively the name of a village has changed. Solution proposal: to record both names, i. e. current valid data as first and data known from literature as second.

Recently, more and more attention in regional development management scholars gives to the optimal allocation of regional logistics centers. One of the promising research areas in these conditions becomes taking into account the factors affecting its efficient allocation in the regions not only from the perspective of transportation and geographical and economic factors, but also special attention should be paid to the impact on the environment. Therefore, it should be noted that in decision-making consideration of exactly this factor will enable better decisions on the optimal regional logistics centers location from the perspective of maintaining ecologically oriented regional development. In this article author proposed a general algorithm to modeling of regional logistics center location with economic, social and environmental factors taken into account with use of correlation and regression analysis. This technique will allow not only determining the regional logistics centers location, but also can be used by enterprises to build distribution centers.

The paper is introduction to the metamorphosis of the Slovak stage design from the 1970s up to present. The author focuses on the expansion of conventional theatre space in the Slovak context (auditorium/stage) by new acting locations (street, square, railway station, i.e. site-specific locations) and other changes related to modernism, post-modernism and trans-culturalism in the arts/ the theatre. Today, stage design reflects the feelings and a flurry of emotions of an individual and of the society. It makes use of the state-of-the-art technology not only to finish off a message but also to disintegrate an idea, a plot and to act as a counterpoint to the word or the theme. On the one hand, it is dynamic and polyfunctional, on the other hand, it is static and semiotic. New theatre forms reflect the time we live. The story has disappeared from the theatre and it has been replaced by the images, emotions of an actor/performer, thus representing his/their (self) knowledge. Oftentimes, the stage designer is within the performer who lives the time together with “his/her” audience.

The beginning of the twenty-first century was a period of special events for Kraków related primarily to the 750th anniversary of the town’s foundation location under Magdeburg law. This jubilee resulted in a variety of scientific and research projects. As with the 700th anniversary celebrated in 1957, a number of historical and archaeological studies were carried out, which provide a summary of current knowledge on the history of the city. They were presented in the form of scientific and cartographic publications, and popular ones. In the course of the jubilee (2005–2007) a few occasional exhibitions were prepared, among which worth mentioning are the exhibitions on Kraków legends and related historical figures, the life and culture of the Kraków stronghold complex from the eleventh to the thirteenth century, as well as the changes that took place in Kraków after foundation in 1257, during the period from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century. In the first decade of the twenty-first century a series of archaeological excavations were undertaken during the renovation of the main squares and streets of the city. These included the western (2002–2004) and eastern (2003, 2005–2010) part of the Main Market Square, the Small Market Square (2007), and the Szczepański Square (2008) and the main streets in the Old Town. The results of these studies have already been partially published in “Archaeological Materials” issued by the Archaeological Museum in Kraków (Vols 36 and 37), and most of all in the “Krzysztofory, the scientific journal of the Historical Museum of Kraków” (Vols 28 and 29)

In the 80s and 90s the accelerated development of technology caused several changes in most sciences, even in the field of business formations. The classical value chain transformed, the university science centres obtained a bigger focus and the role of research organisations is getting more and more important. New business form emerged and became popular: the academic spin-off firm. However, the spin-off companies are well-known and widely used ventures in the corporate business for a long time, especially at technology-oriented industries. For the time being, there is plenty of literature and completed surveys available regarding both academic and corporate spin-off. Some of them are engaged to reveal the critical success factors of spin-off companies and several models were created. The hypothetical question of this study whether common success factors do exist for both types of spin-off even if they are established in quite different environments. Using the relevant international literature and available public data of academic and corporate spin-off firms, six aspects were investigated: 'Raison d' etre', management, investment, networking, location and relation to intellectual property. As a result of this study, common success factors of spin-off companies having different origins could be identified.
