Paper presents results of a research study on digital divide of labour force and economically inactive population from Mazowsze region. The analysis that focused on the relation between digital divide and labour market showed that processes of digital exlusion in Mazowieckie voivodeship follow the path pointed by the labour market and digital divide theories. The most vulnerable group are the economically inactive, the least one - the employed persons, while the unemployed are somewhere in the middle. The main conclusion stemming from presented analysis is that the best way of counteracting digital divide is to integrate and reintegrate individuals from the "high risk groups" with the labour market.

Przedmiotem analizy w niniejszym opracowaniu są procesy demograficzne i ich wpływ na potencjalne zasoby pracy w podregionach województwa śląskiego. Podstawową przesłanką podjętego tematu była potrzeba analizy wybranych procesów demograficznych w skali regionalnej oraz zbadanie głównych konsekwencji ich przebiegu dla regionalnego rynku pracy. Analizie poddano zmiany w liczbie ludności wynikające z procesu reprodukcji oraz dynamikę struktur demograficznych według ekonomicznych grup wieku.

A dimension analysis of the discussed in this paper are demographic processes and their impact on the potential labour resources in subregions of Silesia. Thus, the basic premise undertaken subject was the need for analysis of selected demographic processes on a regional scale and to examine the main consequences of their course for the regional labour market. Analysis covered changes in the population resulting from the process of reproduction and the dynamics of demographic structures by economic age groups.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę zmian liczby i struktury ludności w wieku produkcyjnym w państwach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej w latach 2000-2012 oraz zbadano podobieństwo struktur ludności według grup wieku z wykorzystaniem metody taksonomii struktur. Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na przewidywane - do 2035 - zmiany potencjalnych zasobów pracy oraz ich starzenie.

The paper presents analysis of changes in the number and structure of working age population in the states of Central and Eastern Europe between 2000 and 2012, and similarities between population structures by age groups are analysed with the use of the method of structure taxonomy. Special attention is focused on projected changes in potential labour resources and their ageing until 2035.

The aging of the population both in the global and regional aspect causes a number of negative effects. The most important are: aging of the workforce as well as its loss, which sharpens the basic economic problem associated with limitation of resources. Particularly important is to initiate actions to activate senior people by increasing the age of ability to work as well as by introducing solutions which will increase absorption of these people's work to the labor market. The current situation of senior people on the labor market indicates that there are many barriers which prevent them from entering the labor market. The complexity of the problem requires a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach.
