This article intends to coordinate sacramental liturgy with the liturgy of life by interrelating a number of themes. Evident in the combination of topics in the theology is the typical Catholic approach of “both/and”: church and world, liturgy and the secular, mystagogy and evangelization, sacred and the profane, liturgical participation and mission, liturgical renewal and renewing the face of the earth. This article shows the new evangelization through the lens of liturgy. How does the new evangelization relate to history and eternity, cosmos and parousia, spiritual renewal and embodied action?

Artykuł ma na celu koordynację liturgii sakralnej z liturgią życia, łącząc wiele tematów. Wyraźne w połączeniu tematów z teologii jest typowe podejście katolickie „zarówno / i”: Kościół i świat, liturgia i świecka, mistagogia i ewangelizacja, święte i profanacyjne uczestnictwo liturgiczne i misja, odnawianie liturgiczne i odnowienie twarzy na Ziemi. Artykuł ten ukazuje nową ewangelizację poprzez socjologię liturgii. Jak nowa ewangelizacja nawiązuje do historii i wieczności, kosmosu i paruzji, odnowy duchowej i ucieleśnionego działania?

The author of the article shows that challenging the new God's People to participate in the work of evangelization that is called “new” is still topical, because of the intensification of old threats and appearance of new ones, to which the evangelization was supposed to be a response. It is also current in the light of John Paul II's teaching preached after the year 2000 and Benedict XVI's teaching, especially the teaching contained in his first two encyclicals. Paragraph I of the article talks about the origin, need and significant assumptions of the new evangelization. In the next one the topicality is demonstrated of the challenge directed to the faithful to put it into effect, and in the last one tasks are listed that those who work on the new evangelization face after the Church entered the third millennium. The author pays close attention to the fact that the necessity to intensify one's spiritual life is their essential task, as it is a special condition of efficiency of the work of the new evangelization.

Tematem poruszonym w opracowaniu jest Kościół zachodni, który został dotknięty poważnym problemem schyłku wiary wśród wyznawców w XX i XXI wieku. Zamykając obrady Zgromadzenia Specjalnego Synodu Biskupów, Papież Benedykt XVI jasno zaznaczył, że temat nowej ewangelizacji powinien zajmować naczelne miejsce w planach Kościoła. Przywoływano pilną potrzebę nowej ewangelizacji także dla Bliskiego Wschodu. Chodzi o temat już dość znany, zwłaszcza w krajach o dawnej tradycji chrześcijańskiej. Również niedawne utworzenie Papieskiej Rady do spraw Nowej Ewangelizacji ma odpowiedzieć na tę głęboką potrzebę. Dlatego, po zasięgnięciu rady biskupów świata i konsultacji z Radą Zwyczajną Sekretariatu Generalnego Synodu Biskupów, postanowiła poświęcić najbliższe jego ogólne zgromadzenie zwyczajne w 2012 roku, następującemu tematowi: Nowa ewangelizacja dla przekazu chrześcijańskiej wiary. Wprowadzenie Nowej ewangelizacji ma na celu przywrócenie wiary wśród chrześcijan, jak również powrotu wiernych do Kościoła.

The subject of this paper is the western Church which was affected by a serious crisis of faith among believers in the 20th and 21st centuries. In closing the session of the Special Synod of Bishops, Pope Benedict XVI clearly emphasized the need for new evangelization to be at the forefront of the Church’s plans. Th e urgent need for new evangelization in the Middle East was also summoned. The topic is well known, in particular in countries with an established Christian tradition. Th e recent establishment of the Pontifical Council for Promoting New Evangelization also attempts to answer this deep need. Therefore, after taking advice from Bishops from around the world and consultation with the Ordinary Council of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops, the Council decided to devote the General Assembly in 2012 to the following topic: Th e New Evangelization for the Transmission of the Christian Faith. Th e introduction of the New Evangelization aims at the return to faith of Christians and the return of the faithful to Church.
