The paper studies organizational niches and also network niches around nodes embedded to the n-dimensional social space (Blau-space). Dimension change, a shift in the number of descriptors of the social domain influences niches in many ways. It alters the optimal niche size. It affects the chances of niche overlap, and so, competition intensity. Dimension change can also open new, unoccupied spots in spaces already 'tightly packed' with niches, thus facilitating organizational entry or the establishment of additional network nodes.

Our research examined the gender segment of organisational culture at a local municipality. In the present study we analyse results from focus group discussions with employees at a municipality. In the analysis we discuss what characteristics gender culture has in an organisation where the majority of executives and employees are women. In case of such a gender composition, is organisational culture supportive of women? What characteristics do our research subjects attribute to women and men in general, and to their male and female colleagues? What do they think of the fact that the organisation has a female majority and how do they judge the issue of equal opportunity? The focus groups enabled us to provide a 'rich' and deep description of the examined aspects.

The author deals with organizational power structure. Research on organizational behaviour mainly tends to focus on companies and bureaucracy; other types of organizations get much less attention. One of the neglected topics is the sociology of organizations, which deals with the main differences in the organizational power structure of different kinds of organizations. For example: power structure of companies, bureaucracies for clients, and political bureaucracies, different sorts of supervisory authorities, hospitals, police departments, courts, prisons, prosecutor's offices, schools, etc. The previous article of the author ('Irresponsible organizations') dealt with special types of organizations and their power structures. This study analyses another type of organization - hospitals - and its specialities of power structure and power games. To understand their different power structures helps better understand how they function and behave and also their role in the inter-organizational power-networks and plays..
