Process management means, that the employees are not responsible for realization of particular functions, but for achieving the specified results of this actions. In the literature, you can find the examples of using the process approach at companies. Many firms have already identified the processes and are trying to manage them. That's why, it is necessary to use the tool, which can enable the measurement and assessment of these processes. In the article, the author show the proposal of measurement the process and operating effectiveness.

Corporate reengineering with its philosophy of 'process management' qualitatively evaluates effectiveness and efficiency of recent business structure processes. It is valid not only for the company itself but also for its particular outlets (plants, subsidiaries, workshops, operating units, etc.). The article gives reasons for the use of particular methodology, application of methodology of well-known consulting firms such as Andersen Consulting, Bain, BCG (Boston Consultancy Group) and McKinsey & Company. The aim of this paper is to compare reengineering methodologies of selected consulting companies and institutions from abroad and Slovakia and to stress advantages of their methodology and possibilities of its application in Slovak firms in order to increase their competitiveness.

Enterprises have a lot of problems with realization their strategic aims in the fast changing and competitive business arena from many years. Effective execution of strategic plan needs its translating into action, task results and indicators of everyday activities. The success on the market is attainable by communicating strategic and operating goals on the each level of organizational structure and their connecting with budget of units or employee motivation. The scorecards balancing in finance, customer, process and development perspectives is very useful for pointing - what do we control with? or - what do we have to achieve? But doesn't answer to question about ways of enterprise managing. Main aim of the article is proving that operational controlling system is a essential tool for translating strategy into action. The Balanced Scorecard methodology should to take into consideration system and process connection of enterprise with procurement, co-operation or distribution supply chain also.

The task of identifying processes in organisations is one of the key stages of organisational improvement. It is the basis for making decisions on the development and changes in the functioning of the organisation. This stage is also one of the first steps in implementing the changes in integrated management systems based on ISO standards (9000, 14000 and others). Choosing the right level of detail in the analysis of organisational processes requires a thorough understanding of the characteristics, events and actions to be analysed. This paper proposes a model concept of the structure of the organisational processes that can be used as a template for the identification and analytical work in any organisation in any industry.

There are currently numerous management methods and their number is still growing. With this tendency the problem of monitoring, perception and adoption grows as well. Identifying and supporting contemporary search is therefore current both in theoretical and practical spheres. This paper focuses on identification of trends in management that can be (on the current level of knowledge) regarded as the most modern and perspective. Such trends are process management, direction of bionic and holistic thinking, finding performance excellence and prominence, computerization and technology management. Individual movements are characterized by the most prominent representative methods, especially in terms of their functional utility for managers. The interpretation also provides a conceptual evaluation of advantages and disadvantages of the most important methods and their perspective is outlined in the current crisis and turbulent conditions of globalized economy.
