This article assesses efforts to develop 'open innovation'. First, open innovation is put in the framework of knowledge society. It is shown that the term open innovation refers to such different cases that it is better to assess them separately. Chesbrough's 'open innovation', the 'lead user' conception, the idea of 'commons-based-peer production' and 'interactive value production' is shortly explored. 'Incertitude' is overviewed as basic background that urges societal praxis to turn to open innovation. At the end the article, referring to an expert material worked out for the EC DG Research, called with abbreviation TEKSS, turns interest to extending open innovation by integrating concerned groups as innovation partners as engagement, i.e. as partners through the whole innovation process.

The article presents an example of production planning system, implementing different rules in production planning, taking into account the load of work posts. The most important function of the system developed is the ability to automatically schedule the exact dates of commencement and completion of individual processes performance. The system also provides a review of production schedules in a single day, week, or month in the form of Gantt's charts. These graphs implement two approaches: allow you to view both the procurement time and the current load of machines. The system also provides many other features that allow you to follow the execution of the order, from its registration until the completion of it.

The assessment of the investments' effectiveness is a key element of investment processes. In order to be comprehensive and exhaustive, it should go beyond the scope of the microeconomic assessment and take into account the macroeconomic calculation of effectiveness. The prerequisite for the effectiveness of investment decisions implemented by private companies is the maximization of the investments return. When attempting to evaluate the effectiveness of investments, on the scale of the economy, it seems significant to look not only for the economic benefits but also for the social advantages that they generate. Undoubtedly, an increase of employment in the economy can be regarded as one of the latter and is a result of the strong correlation between the creation of jobs and economic growth, which in turn depends on the level of investments. However, one should remember that this relationship does not occur in every case; there is a certain level of investment rate, specific for each economy at a given time, which generates jobless economic growth. The reason for this phenomenon is the need to achieve the desired level of investments necessary for a given economy to recreate the previous capital-labour ratio as well as to implement modernisation investments which will result in the modernisation of the economy and an increase of labour productivity, and not in the employment growth. The purpose of this study is to assess the macroeconomic efficiency of investment in the selected EU economies.

The industrial products and services supply was analyzed in the present paper through the statistical indicators of the industrial production, applied for Romania (2005), both at macroeconomic and regional level (on development regions). The first part of the paper presents some of the methodological reglamentations used in determining the 'industrial production' statistical indicator, according to the European Union statistical practices (Pack, 2000; 'Methodology of short-term business statistics', 2006; Peneder, 2001). In the second part of the paper, the authors analyze the main industrial policy previsions in Romania in order to accelerate the process of resource allocation among and within the various sectors, to improve the competitiveness, to attenuate the discrepancies between the economic development level of Romanian regions and to become part of a common European industrial policy. Regional analysis is a domain largely studied by Kangas, Leskinen, Kangas, 2007; Leskinen, Kangas, 2005; Rondinelli, 1996; Banai-Kashani, Reza, 1989.

The concept of “sustainable development” and “sustainable economy” is analyzed. The Russian equivalent “sesteynovy” is suggested for the English term «sustainable». Needed features of SE such as renewable resources base, dematerialization, innovative orientation, close to nature, used processes and cycles, social orientation and so on are analyzed. Such directions for sustainable economy (SE) as (1) transformation of material-energy component; (2) improvement of information programs of economic systems; (3) improvement of synergetic base; (4) increase of self-organization level are formulated. The sustainable consumption as an important component of sustainable economy is studied. A comparative analysis of traditional (industrial) and sustainable economy is given. Preconditions for development of sustainable economy in Ukraine are investigated. Key components for knowledge formation in the field of sustainable economy such as the contents and principles of sustainable development and SE; greener demand and greener supply; social institutes and democratic values as preconditions of SE; anatomy of sustainable consumption; reproduction of human factors for SE; the best EU practices for SE development; future of SE are studied.

Product life - term of production, or period of engagement or return, in other words - influences economic growth and the length of its possible cycles. The appropriate way of describing this effect is with the input-output model and various versions of it, which also allow calculations to be made. The 'elliptical production paths' of the Austrian school and their duration and variations become clear and measurable. All this may lead to an extension of the concept and interpretation of equilibrium.

After the time of relatively easy creating and using asynchronous electronic trainings, the challenges of modern academic didactics and rapid development of ICT have caused the increase of quality requirements for new e-learning courses. Professional production of such electronic trainings is costly and requires the cooperation of many specialists: the authors of e-learning content, instructional designers, graphic designers, software engineers, tutors and e-learning platform administrators. This challenge was taken by the project team of the University of Gdansk, which elaborated and implemented six multimedia interactive e-learning courses. The article describes the assumptions and results of implementation of the project 'Academic courses of distance teaching at the University of Gdansk'.

The paper develops a farm producer behavior type model to analyze the impact of a input productivity and price change on farm incomes. The theoretical analysis shows the consequences of the balance between the increase of production factor prices and their productivity improvement in the condition of stable procurement price for the farm producer's income. The cost effect of the production factors price increment and its neutralization by productivity (TFP-type) growth is examined as well as - some aspects of the inputs shares (returns) and costs in the produce value. The article argues that labor input productivity as an endogenous factor, is an essential for farm incomes growth assuming the specified type of the farm producer utility function (its equations and variables) as well as no the compensative procurement price change conditions. Some empirical evidence is attached however more work in that respect is foreseen.

Transcendence is understood by Husserl as a being for consciousness. This means that it is ontically not self-reliant. Availing myself of Husserl’s qualification of the constitution as Erzeugung, Produktion – I reinterpret the concept of transcendence as a concept of product. Moreover, I reinterpret the concept of Husserl’s teleology in the light of Thomas’ analysis of act. It appears that responsibility implies the being for others, not simply for consciousness; it implies the being not of the product itself, but of the gift for the person. The products are really not self-reliant, as they can always be deprived of the gift-character and became man-hostile (alienation).

The aim of this article is to identify and visualize the production chains in the Slovak economy by the means of average propagation lengths methodology. This methodology allows us to identify the economic distance between industries which measures the number of steps and it takes an exogenous change in one industry to affect the production in another industry. The analysis for an overall economy is based on 6-sector classification. 30-sector classification is used for deeper analysis of production chains in relation to the construction sector.

The article focuses on gender aspects of globalisation and global restructuring and criticises the masculine bias of mainstream theories of globalisation. It is aimed at adding a global dimension to Czech gender studies. It looks at the way in which globalisation is gendered and based on gender ideologies, and how global restructuring affects and change gender systems. Primarily economic globalisation is addressed, and the changes in the organisation of labour globally are examined. Global production is dependent on cheap women's labour in the factories of multi-national corporations in the global south. The process of rendering labour more flexible and informal is associated with its feminisation. Care work and migration are also becoming feminised on a global scale. The article also analyses domestic work performed in the United States and Western Europe by women migrants from developing countries. All these processes are occurring within the context of neo-liberal policies and the changing role of states amidst a global restructuring, which needs to be examined from a gender perspective.

A huge collection of ceramics finds was discovered by digging a basement on the court of the family house in the village Šintava (district Galanta, Slovakia), in March 2020. For this reason, the Department of Archaeology at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra realized archaeological excavation. During the excavation were documented three settlement features, which were secondary filled mostly with the ceramics. Some of them were fragments of stove tiles, especially panel stove tiles with different types of motifs. In this study, the collection of stove tiles are presented and evaluated by iconography, morphology, type-chronological classification, and also an extension on the territory of Slovakia. The finding itself is also evaluated within Šintava past settlement.

This text offers a historical probe into the history of operas with an Orpheus theme. It maps out the individual epochs and introduces works which do not have an extensive tradition of reception and their productions appear in the repertoires of theatres only occasionally. The focus is especially on the period of Baroque where operas with an Orpheus theme are most heavily represented, and on 20th-century operas. On the other hand, this study does not pay attention to 19th-century opera because this mythological theme is not present in it. The exploration of the tradition of interpreting the mentioned opuses includes examples of contemporary productions.

In the light of common doubts concerning efficient functioning of cereal farms with poor soil, the article attempts to assess their production potential, organisation of production, economic viability and environmental efficiency, as well as development opportunities. The division was made in three groups of cereal farms, selected by size of the cumulative point relative goodness indicator, that in 2005-2010 kept accounts for the Polish FADN. The first group included developing farms that obtained 449-518 points, the second group included problem farms (282-310 points), and the third group consisted in declining farms (207-234 points). The division was made in accordance with the Ward clustering method and k-means method, as well as the Statistica 8.0 programme. The results of the analysis may confirm the hypothesis that there are farms with poor soil where the poor quality of soil does not exclude efficient functioning and implementation of the long-term objective, i.e. not only existence but also development.

Rather than dealing with the immediate policy steps to dampen the crisis, this paper attempts to reveal the worsening savings/consumption pattern of the US economy over the last ten years. Based on the closed logic of open-economy GDP-accounting, it argues that the current crisis is deeply rooted in shrinking public and private savings trends discernible as early as 1997. The current mortgage-market crisis and deep fall in new residential housing are products of a distorted financial environment that encourages over-borrowing and over-consumption. Expansion of the credit cycle through successive financial innovations has increased, not decreased output volatility. But the main foreign lenders to the US -Japan, China and Germany - have managed to offset their losses on US securities by buying into US companies. Large US firms have also benefited from rapid dollar depreciation as USD-denominated yields on their foreign assets experienced strong run-ups. The weak dollar has also helped American firms with large assets on foreign markets. So there were strong benefits for the US, not just on the goods-export side, but on the asset side, an aspect rarely emphasized

Folk art production is a valuable part of cultural heritage and a significant form of expression of the creative arts of previous and present generations. The article is a reflection on the development of folk production in Slovakia from the end of the 19th century, when folk production was organized by cooperation and association. The activities of these institutions gradually created favourable conditions to capture and ensure the development of folk art production. In 1945, it was possible to make the first attempt to underpin the development of folk art production in its entire scale.
