Autorka artykułu przedstawia powody, dla których współczesne seriale filmowe uchodzą za produkty wysokiej jakości przewyższające kino. Mazierska analizuje ich tekstualne właściwości, a także typowy sposób ich konsumpcji, określany jako binge watching albo feasting. Próbuje także ocenić ich wartość z perspektywy promowania wartości egalitarnych i ideału amatorstwa. Tekst opiera się na bogatym materiale empirycznym, ale szczególną uwagę autorka zwraca na trzy seriale: „Lost” (2004-2010), „Prison Break” (2005-2009) i „Breaking Bad” (2008-2013).

The author of the article presents the reasons why modern film series are considered to be high quality products surpassing the cinema. Mazierska analyses their textual properties, as well as the typical way of consuming them, referred to as binge watching or feasting. She also tries to assess their value from the perspective of promoting egalitarian values and the ideal of amateurism. The text is based on rich empirical material, but special attention is given to three particular series: “Lost” (2004-2010), “Prison Break” (2005-2009) and “Breaking Bad” (2008-2013).

W artykule omówiono produkcję wydawniczą ograniczoną do serii książkowych wybranych bibliotek wojewódzkich. Do analizy wybrano wojewódzkie książnice publiczne znajdujące się w załączonym do Rozporządzenia Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego Wykazie bibliotek zaliczonych do bibliotek naukowych. W wymienionym dokumencie po zmianach z dnia 19 października 2016 r. znajduje się 30 bibliotek określanych jako naukowe, wśród nich 12 książnic pełni również funkcję bibliotek wojewódzkich. Spośród książnic wojewódzkich przedstawiono serie wydawnicze: Biblioteki Śląskiej, Biblioteki Publicznej m.st. War szawy – Biblioteki Głównej Województwa Mazowieckiego, Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego w Łodzi, Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Hieronima Łopacińskiego w Lublinie oraz Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej im. Emanuela Smołki w Opolu. Wyniki badania dowodzą, że oferta bibliotek wojewódzkich w zakresie tytułów serii jest urozmaicona. Publikowane serie są starannie przemyślane i skierowane do konkretnego kręgu odbiorców. Popularyzują naukę oraz kolekcje własne bibliotek. Nakłady prezentowanych wydawnictw są zazwyczaj bardzo niskie i najczęściej trafiają do największych książnic w kraju i za granicą. Analiza tematyczna charakteryzowanych serii wskazuje wyraźnie, że jedną grupę wydawnictw bibliotecznych można opisać jako związaną z bibliotekarstwem, czytelnictwem i książką. Druga grupa publikacji dotyczy historii regionu, wiedzy o postaciach, języku i obyczajach danego obszaru. Najczęstsze tematy podejmowane w cyklach wydawniczych to: książka, kultura, nauka, literatura piękna, poezja, sztuka, „regionalia”.

The article discusses the publishing production, limited to book series, of the selected voivodeship libraries. For the purpose of the analysis one chose the public voivodeship libraries featured on the Elenchus of libraries classified as scholarly libraries appended to a Regulation of the Minister of Cultural and National Heritage. The document that was mentioned, which was subsequently modified on 19 October 2016 features thirty libraries referred to as scholarly libraries. Among them twelve libraries also perform the function of voivodeship libraries. As far as the voivodeship libraries are concerned, one discussed the publishing series of the following institutions: Biblioteka Śląska, Biblioteka Publiczna m.st. Warszawy – Biblioteka Główna Województwa Mazowieckiego, Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna im. Marszałka Józefa Piłsudskiego in Łódź, Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna im. Hieronima Łopacińskiego in Lublin, Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna im. Emanuela Smołki in Opole. Research demonstrates the wide range of the titles in the series represented in the repertory of voivodeship libraries. It has been carefully devised and directed to a specific readership. The series in question popularise scholarship and the in-house collections of the libraries. The print runs of the publications which are presented are usually low and they are usually distributed to the greatest libraries in Poland or beyond. The thematic analysis clearly indicates that one group of library publications may be said to be associated with library science, readership and books. Another group promotes the knowledge about the region, the history of the region, information about the people, the language and the customs of the people associated with a given area. Books, culture, scholarship, belles lettres, poetry, art, “regionalia” constitute the most common themes of the titles represented in the series.

Blisko sześćdziesięcioletni dorobek wydawniczy Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Opolu charakteryzuje się dużą wszechstronnością zarówno pod względem formy publikacji, jak i tematyki. Obejmuje publikacje bibliograficzne, informacyjne, poradnikowe, szkoleniowe, drukowane katalogi zbiorów oraz wydawnictwa towarzyszące wystawom, konferencjom i seminariom. Wiele książek wydanych przez opolską książnicę rejestruje aktualne wydarzenia społeczne, kulturalne, w szczególności literackie Opolszczyzny, a także przybliża wiedzę o historii regionu w związku z ogłaszaniem reprintów rzadkich druków śląskich. W artykule przedstawiono ową różnorodność działalności wydawniczej WBP w Opolu, podkreślając znaczenie publikowanych wydawnictw dla regionu opolskiego dawniej i dziś oraz prezentując konkretne tytuły wydawnicze zwarte i ciągłe.

The publishing output of the Voivodeship Public Library in Opole of almost sixty years is characterised by considerable versatility both as far as the form of the publications and their subject matter is concerned. It embraces bibliographical, informative, advice-related, training-oriented publications, printed catalogues of collections and publications which accompany exhibitions, conferences and seminars. Many of the books which were published by the Opole-based publisher register current social, cultural, and in particular literary events of the Opole region. The publisher familiarises the reader with the history of the region by republishing rare Silesiana. The purpose of the article is to present the variety of the publishing activities of the WBP in Opole, the significance of the publications for the Opole region in earlier and in recent times by making reference to specific serial and non-serial publications.
