W artykule omówiono nieznan relacj historii rzekomej relikwii ręki w. Jana Chrzciciela, która znajdowała się w zamku w Brzeanach, skąd trafia do miejscowej cerkwi. Relikwia owa miała by darem hospodara modawskiego Stefana Petryczejki dla Mikoaja Hieronima Sieniawskiego (1645-1683), chorego wielkiego koronnego za uratowanie ony hospodara z rąk tatarskich. Autorem relacji pochodzcej z 1735 roku był Mikołaj Dyakowski, podstoli latyczkowski, znany dotychczas jako autor opisu batalii wiedeskiej z 1683 roku. Omawiany tekst Relacyi zestawiono z podobnym opisem jaki zamieści w Nowych Atenach Benedykt Chmielowski. Oprócz przedstawienia treści relacji i okoliczności jej powstania, przybliono posta jej autora, którego skromną biografię udało się uzupełnić o kilka istotnych faktów.

In the article an unknown report of the history of the alleged relic of St. John the Baptist is discussed. The relic was supposed to be kept in the Brzeżan Castle, from where it was taken to the local orthodox church. The relic allegedly was a gift from the Moldovian Hospodar Stefan Petriceicu to Mikołaj Hieronim Sieniawski (1645-1683), Grand Standard Bearer of the Crown, for saving the Hospodar's wife from Tartars. The author of the report that was written in 1735 was Mikołaj Dyakowski, the Latyczów Master of the Pantry, earlier only known as the author of the story of the Vienna Battle of 1683. The discussed text of Relacyja is compared with a similar description published in the Nowe Ateny by Benedykt Chmielowski. Apart from presenting the contents of the report and the circumstances of writing it, the text also describes the figure of its author, whose brief biography is complement with a few significant facts.
