IntrodactionDynamic cultural, economical, or scientific and technical transitions enforce transformation in educational processes. Currently, teaching study skills cannot be considered as simple field and certainly not a pleasant one. Nowadays, learning process does not consist in executing an educational programme rigidly, but in responding to emerging problems and in ability to create the right conditions to resolve them.Research AimKey questions were important in the research: What are constituent elements ‘art’ of teaching study skills at school?? and will they aid the development of modern personality referred to as a homo hubris? Who in media space can be described as a homo hubris?Research toolsTests diagnosing the declared knowledge on media of the adolescents and teachers, and their procedure knowledge connected with abilities to use the media and also a scale for examining attitudes towards media). Results and ConclusionThe results are not encouraging. The teachers who participated in my research fared worse than their students in all three areas I described. Hhomo hubris in the media space is adolescent. Moreover, the respondents' knowledge of contemporary media is selective and limited, and their skills are reduced to only basic operations.Keywords: The ‘art’ of teaching study skills, and its atributes, modern man concept, modern personality traits, media space, own research.

WprowadzenieDynamiczne przemiany kulturowe, ekonomiczne czy naukowo-techniczne wymuszają transformacje w procesach edukacyjnych. Obecnie nauczanie-uczenie się nie należą do dziedzin prostych i z pewnością nie zawsze przyjemnych. Współcześnie proces uczenia nie polega na sztywnym realizowaniu programu, lecz na reagowaniu na pojawiające się problemy i na umiejętności utworzenia odpowiednich warunków do ich rozwiązywania.Cel badańIstotne w badaniach były kluczowe pytania: jakie są konstytutywne elementy sztuki nauczania uczenia się? czy będą sprzyjać rozwojowi osobowości nowoczesnej określanej jako homo hubris? kogo w przestrzeni medialnej można określić mianem homo hubris?Narzędzia badawczeW badaniach zastosowano autorskie testy diagnozujące: wiedzę deklaratywną (declarative knowledge) adolescentów i nauczycieli o mediach; wiedzę proceduralną (procedural knowledge) związaną z umiejętnościami stosowania mediów, oraz skalę do badania postaw adolescentów i nauczycieli wobec mediówWyniki i wnioskiOtrzymane wyniki nie napawają optymizmem. Nauczyciele, którzy wzięli udział w moich badaniach, wypadli gorzej od swoich uczniów we wszystkich trzech opisanych przez mnie obszarach. Hhomo hubris w przestrzeni medialnej to adolescent. Ponadto wiedza respondentów o współczesnych mediach ma charakter wybiórczy i ograniczony, a ich umiejętności sprowadzają się tylko do podstawowych operacji.
