Artykuł opisuje historię powstania prałatury Moyobamba (Peru), której początki ewangelizacji rozpoczynają się już od działalności trzeciego biskupa archidiecezji Limy – św. Turybiusza. Istotny wpływ na ewangelizację mieli również jezuici oraz franciszkanie, którzy pomimo trudno dostępnego geograficznie terenu docierali z posługą sakramentalną do żyjących tu Indian. Silnym impulsem do powstania Prałatury i jej dalszego rozwoju było zaproszenie księży pasjonistów przez biskupa Emilio Lissón oraz posługa biskupa Martin Elorza, którego proces beatyfikacyjny rozpoczął się w 2002 roku.

The article concentrates on the history of the creation of the Prelature of Moyobamba (Peru) whose beginnings in evangelisation can be traced back to the activity of the third Bishop of the Archdiocese of Lima, St Turibius. The Jesuits and Franciscans also had a significant impact on evangelization who, despite the geographically difficult terrain, reached the Indians living there with sacramental service. A strong impulse for the creation of the Prelature and its further development was the invitation of the Passionist Fathers by Bishop Emilio Lissón and the service of Bishop Martin Elorza, whose beatification process began in 2002.
