Wyrażenia funkcyjne od wielu lat są w Polsce przedmiotem szczegółowych analiz językoznawczych. Jednak klasyfikacja semantyczna całej klasy wyrażeń nie była podejmowana przez długi czas. W WSJP PAN po raz pierwszy w słowniku ogólnym zastosowano kwalifikację znaczeniową wszystkich wyrażeń funkcyjnych. Artykuł opisuje koncepcję opisu semantycznego wyrażeń funkcyjnych w WSJP PAN w zestawieniu z klasyfikacją tematyczną wyrażeń. Hasła słownikowe zostały przeanalizowane ręcznie w celu odtworzenia klas znaczeniowych przypisanych poszczególnym wyrażeniom funkcyjnym wraz z ich podziałem na klasy gramatyczne. Autor formułuje również propozycje udoskonalenia zastosowanego w WSJP PAN podziału znaczeniowego wyrażeń funkcyjnych oraz wskazuje na jego praktyczne zastosowania.

Function words have been a widely discussed topic in linguistics in Poland for many years. However, the semantic classification of the whole class of these expressions was a long-neglected issue. In WSJP PAN, for the first time, the semantic qualification of all function words was used. The article examines the concept of semantic description of function words in WSJP PAN in comparison to thematic classification. The dictionary entries were manually parsed to identify the semantic classes of the function words and their grammatical diversities. The article discusses problems related to proper name entries in Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish. The dictionary has been under construction since 2007 and is available at the following URL: http://wsjp.pl. The first part of the text is devoted to the issue of reasonableness of including proper names in general dictionaries. Critical opinions on the issue raised in the past are recalled and discussed. What follows is a presentation on how  the description of proper names, especially geographical names and their derivatives, was envisaged in the early stages of works on the aforementioned dictionary. This vision is then compared with the actual state of being in the current version of the dictionary from 2020. In the final part, further prospects of describing proper names in Polish Academy of Sciences Great Dictionary of Polish are presented.

Artykuł omawia problemy dotyczące opisu naw własnych w Wielkim słowniku języka polskiego PAN, który opracowywany jest od 2007 roku i publikowany w Internecie pod adresem http://wsjp.pl . Pierwsza część tekstu jest poświęcona kwestii celowości notowania nazw własnych w słownikach ogólnych języka naturalnego (przypomniano negatywne opinie na ten temat), następnie przedstawiono projekt opisu nazw własnych w wymienionym słowniku (przede wszystkim nazwy geograficzne z ich derywatami), pochodzący z początkowego etapu prac nad nim i porównano ze stanem realizacji aktualnym w roku 2020. W części końcowej przedstawiono dalsze perspektywy opisu nazw własnych w Wielkim słowniku języka polskiego PAN.

Artykuł stanowi odpowied autora, będącego jednocześnie redaktorem naukowym Wielkiego słownika języka polskiego PAN, na uwagi, jakie w stosunku do tego słownika zgłosił Piotr Zbróg, dotyczące przedstawienia w nim wybranych aspektów problematyki poprawności językowej. Część uwag autor uznał za słuszne, część - za wynikające z błędnej interpretacji zasad opisu leksykograficznego w WSJP PAN. Przedstawił także kilka postulatów dotyczących zadań współczesnej normatywistyki językowej w Polsce.

The paper provides the authors response to Piotr Zbrogs comments on the interpretation of some language correctness problems in Wielki słownik języka polskiego PAN (The PAN Great Dictionary of Polish Language). The author, who is the editor-in-chief of this dictionary, admitted to some mistakes in the lexicographic descriptions there, but he claims that a great part of Zbrogs criticism is the result of misinterpretation of the rules of lexicographic description in the dictionary. The author also presents a few proposals concerning further development of normative linguistics in Poland.

Czego nie będzie w „Wielkim słowniku języka polskiego PAN” - polskie (?) słownictwo curlingowe

The present paper deals with Polish lexical units referring to curling. The material is taken from Polish Eurosport live transmissions and website of Polish Curling Federation. The aim of the first part of the paper is to collect and describe Polish curling terminology. Curling in Poland is not a very popular sport and therefore the most of the lexical units are borrowings from English (eg. skip, end, hamer, curler) or simply translations or calques of English words and phrases (e.g. dom ‘house’, kamień ‘stone’, prosty/kołyszący się lód ‘straight/swinging ice’). There are also several Polish lexemes (or old borrowings) like dogrywka ‘extra end’, remis ‘blank end’, trener ‘coach’. The second part of the paper is devoted to corpus analysis of the curling vocabulary, in order to decide, is the Polish curling vocabulary worth defining in one of the newest Polish general dictionaries, PAS Great Dictionary of Polish. The analysis of the National Corpus of Polish pointed out, that the lexical units referring to curling are poorly represented in NCP, so they do not fulfill the criteria to be put into the dictionary (the basic criterion for a terminological unit is at least 10 occurrences in at least 2 printed (non electronic) documents in corpus).
