Artykuł dotyczy międzynarodowej wystawy Documenta 11. i jest filozoficzno-estetycznym omówieniem prezentowanych tam dzieł sztuki, takich jak: realistyczne zapisy w postaci fotografii i video, prezentacje nawiązujące do problemu tożsamości, "obrazy" informacyjnego szumu, refleksje o mediach i wykorzystywanym w nich słowie, także instalacje wykorzystujące efektowność nowoczesnych mediów. W dziełach tych konceptualna forma dominuje nad zmysłowym przedstawieniem piękna, widać też podporządkowanie sztuki intelektualnym refleksjom nad światem. W tym kontekście warte namysłu są pytania o filozoficzną wartość tej refleksji, także miejsce piękna w sztuce współczesnej.

The paper concerns the international exhibition Documenta 11. and concentrates on the aesthetic and philosophic purport at the presented works of art. All in all the main themes centre around "the information noise", identity and effectivness of the present media. Hence the insight of the philosophic message of Documenta 11.
