Artykuł przedstawia alternatywną metodę kalkulacji progu efektywności kosztowej w procesie oceny technologii medycznych. Metoda oparta na teoretycznym modelu funkcji zdrowia wykorzystuje rezultat analizy ekonometrycznej w kalkulacji kosztu życia w oparciu o historyczne dane epidemiologiczne i alokację zasobów finansowych w publicznym systemie ochrony zdrowia. Metodę demonstrujemy na przykładzie grupy chorób niedokrwiennych serca. Wyniki analizy wskazują, iż obecnie stosowany w Polsce sztywny próg efektywności nie odzwierciedla rzeczywistych kosztów związanych z poprawą efektu zdrowotnego.

This article presents an alternative method for calculating the cost-effectiveness threshold in the process of health technology assessment (HTA). The method is based on a theoretical model of health function and builds upon the econometric analysis addressing the impact of marginal change in overall NHS expenditure on changes in mortality for the ischemic heart diseases. Results of the analysis indicate that currently used in Poland rigid threshold performance does not reflect the actual costs associated with the improvement of health condition.
