Dynamic technological progress is actively influencing the shape of modern education. Inventions that are constantly appearing on the market are often adapted to the needs of schools. One of the technologies that shows special potential in didactics is beacons. Beacons are small devices that can be used for communication, navigation and researching the recipient’s behavior. These functionalities are used in the education process, enabling the creation of completely new learning experiences. According to research, they can be successfully used in the classroom, during the formal learning process, as well as in various institutions, such as in informal transfer of knowledge, for example in cultural institutions. These sensors can contribute to the creation of a dynamic space for the exchange of knowledge and experiences, which will automatically respond to the individual needs of the recipient. The main goal of this article is to present the possibility of using beacons in the context of stationary education. The considerations were based on a review of the available literature. The work draws attention not only to the problems of the sensors themselves, but also to the possibility of their cooperation with other technologies. The collaboration of technical tools may contribute to the creation of more comprehensive solutions and, as a result, an increase in the quality and efficiency of the education process. However, as the analysis shows – beacons can be a promising technology in education, but their use is niche. Perhaps in future years, there will be more such solutions that will enable a more accurate assessment of these sensors. The author intends to continue her research to support the adoption of the described technology in Polish educational institutions.

The presented study draws attention to the participation in the culture of people with disabilities. In the theoretical part, authors discuss the functionalities of beacons, which might be a useful tool in market communication of equal opportunities. The key goal of the article is to examine the role of beacons in market communication of equal opportunities with a disabled culture recipient. For the purposes of the undertaken research, a hypothesis was put forward that beacons support the process of market communication of equal opportunities with a disabled culture recipient. To verify the adopted hypothesis, authors carried in-depth interviews out in selected institutions using the discussed solution. Participants of the interviews represent the environment of cultural institutions or undertake selected cultural initiatives. In the presented study attended representatives of the following institutions: Museum of King Jan III's Palace in Wilanów, Town and Commune Office in Olkusz (Gwarków Trail), Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow, Silesian Uprising Museum in Świętochłowice and TAURON Arena in Krakow. During the research, it was also attempted to determine to what extent beacon functions are being used in marketing activities carried out for the benefit of disabled people by entities participating in interviews. Based on the research conducted, it was found that wider use of solutions based on the functionality of beacons can be achieved as a result of their adaptation to selected groups with particular dysfunctions.

W badaniu uczestniczyli przedstawiciele następujących instytucji: Muzeum Pałacu Króla Jana III w Wilanowie, Urzędu Miasta i Gminy w Olkuszu (Szlak Gwarków), Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego w Krakowie, Muzeum Powstań Śląskich w Świętochłowicach oraz TAURON Arena w Krakowie. Wywiady zostały przeprowadzone w maju i czerwcu 2020 roku. W trakcie badań starano się także ustalić, w jakim stopniu wykorzystywane są funkcje beaconów w działaniach realizowanych na rzecz osób niepełnosprawnych przez podmioty uczestniczące w wywiadach. Stwierdzono, że instytucje stosujące beacony w procesie komunikacji rynkowej z niepełnosprawnymi odbiorcami kultury wykorzystują je najczęściej do wyrównywania szans przedstawicieli pojedynczych grup, z konkretnymi ograniczeniami fizycznymi.
