Behavioural primatologists and evolutionary psychologists consider morality in three aspects: the tendency to prosocial behaviour, sense of fairness and empathy. This article provides an overview of studies and reports, summarizing the current state of knowledge about the morality in primates - in all aforementioned aspects. A lot of empirical research has been conducted so far, but few of them provide hard evidence for the existence of morality among primates. Moreover, inconsistent results in a single approach of the different research teams induce to reflect on this situation.

Prymatolodzy behawioralni i psychologowie ewolucyjni rozpatrują moralność w trzech aspektach: tendencji do zachowań prospołecznych, poczucia sprawiedliwości i empatii. Niniejszy artykuł stanowi przegląd badań i doniesień, podsumowujących aktualny stan wiedzy na temat moralności wśród ssaków naczelnych – we wszystkich wymienionych wyżej aspektach. Do tej pory przeprowadzono dużo badań empirycznych, jednak niewiele z nich dostarcza twardych dowodów na istnienie poszczególnych komponentów moralności wśród naczelnych. Ponadto sprzeczne wyniki w ramach jednego podejścia różnych zespołów badawczych, skłaniają do zastanowienia się nad tym stanem rzeczy.
