Poziom i warunki życia ludności w Polsce są silnie przestrzennie zróżnicowane. Coraz częściej podkreśla się również zależność pomiędzy sprawnym i efektywnym (przede wszystkim szybkim i stosunkowo tanim) zarządzaniem ruchem osobowym w obrębie miasta, a poziomem i jakością życia jego mieszkańców. Analiza przestrzennego zróżnicowania wybranych wskaźników poziomu życia istotnie powiązanych i pozostających we wzajemnych relacjach ze sprawnym systemem logistycznym miasta, wymaga przede wszystkim prawidłowego skwantyfikowania zmiennych diagnostycznych.

The level and the conditions of living in Poland are highly spatially variable. The relationship between the effective and efficient (especially rapid and relatively cheap) management of passenger traffic within the city, and the level and quality of life of its inhabitants is indicated more and more often. The analysis of the spatial variation of selected indicators of living standards which remain significantly related to the logistics system of the city, first of all requires proper quantifying of diagnostic variables.
