Between 2016 and 2021 the Slovak National Museum – Historical museum, together with the National Bank of Slovakia – Museum of coins and medals, acquired 392 numismatic objects from Muráň Castle. A hoard of 360 Hungarian Ferdinand I denarii, hidden around 1554, was found directly on castle grounds. Ottoman penetration into the area may have precipitated the creation of the hoard. Besides the cache, finds at Muráň also include 21 other numismatic artefacts such as Hungarian denarii and their forgeries, Czech and Polish-Silesian coins, two interesting Nuremberg counting tokens and one reliquary with the letters MAR.

Artykuł podejmuje problematykę miedzianych szelągów Jana Kazimierza z lat 1659–1666, która wyłania się z analizy struktury dużych szelężnych skarbów skonfrontowanych z treścią sprawozdań menniczych. Dokonano jej w oparciu o reprezentatywne, nowo opracowane znaleziska – z Idziek-Wykna i Rokitna oraz wcześniej publikowane zespoły, które gromadzą łącznie ponad 59 tys. monet. Na tej podstawie oszacowano globalne rozmiary produkcji szelągów wraz z udziałem w niej poszczególnych mennic. Wartości te skłoniły do ustosunkowania się wobec kierowanych pod adresem Tytusa Liwiusza Boratiniego oskarżeń o nadużycia mennicze. Natomiast ze wstępnej analizy fałszywych szelągów wyłoniła się kolejna przesłanka pomocna w datowaniu skarbów tych monet.

This article deals with the issue of King John Casimir’s copper shillings struck in 1659–1666, emerging from the analysis of the structure of large shilling hoards in relation to the contents of mint reports. It was conducted on the basis of representative, newly-described finds from Idźki-Wykno and Rokitno, as well as previously published deposits, encompassing more than 59,000 coins. On this basis, the global production volume of shillings was estimated along with the share of individual mints. These values prompt a response to the accusations of mintage abuse levelled against Tytus Livius Boratini. However, another premise emerged from the initial analysis of false shillings that helps to date hoards of copper shillings.

W XIV i XV wieku dla Wołynia i Podola kontakty handlowe z Zakonem Krzyżackim, włączając miasto Toruń, były działaniem naturalnym. Związki te wpłynęły na obieg monetarny na wspomnianych terenach, czego świadectwem jest obecność pieniądz zakonu krzyżackiego. We wrześniu 2014 r. w Nizhinsky region, Tschernikhov oblast znaleziono skarb, w którym były monety Wielkiego Mistrza Michała Kuhmeistra von Sternberg i półgrosze Władysława Jagiełły. Do rąk autora publikacji dotarły monety krzyżackie, które opisane zostały w artykule.

In the 14th and 15th centuries the trading contacts of Volhynia and Podolia with the Teutonic Order ran through the city of Toruń, which was perfectly natural. Those contacts had an influence on the circulation of coinage in the two territories named above, which is attested to by the presence of coins of the Teutonic Order. In September 2014 in the Nizhinsky region, Tschernikhov oblast, was found a hoard in which were coins struck by the Grand Master Michael Kuhmeistra von Sternberg and a half-groschen of Władysław Jagiełło. The coins of the Order, which are described in this article, passed through the hands of the author.

ля українсько-руських земель, особливо Волині та Поділля в XIV-XV ст. торгівельні зв’язки із містами держави Тевтонського Ордену в Прусії, зокрема, м. Торунем були традиційними. Торгівельні вза- ємини забезпечували появу на грошовий ринок українських земель орденських монет і їхнє поширення навіть за традиційні ареали розповсюдження. У березні 2014 р. у Ніжинському районі Чернігівської області був зна- йдений монетний комплекс (гаманець) до складу якого входило сім дореформених шилінгів Великого магістра Міхаеля Кюхмайстер фон Штернберга та коронний квартник (півгріш) Владислава Ягайла.
