The folk costume from Rozbark, Bytom, being representative of the region of Upper Silesia, is a product made by human hands which, as in a lens, reflects the traces of history, the rich cultural context and echo of social transformations. Above all, it is an important sign of belonging to the community of Silesians, who recover their self-awareness and the need for manifesting their distinctness in the background of globalist trends. The costume from Rozbark, Bytom, has not been forgotten nor inscribed in a purely museum dimension of memory. Rozbark inhabitants have made efforts to resume the production of the costume for folk, festive and ceremonial purposes. By returning to the sources, a young generation of Upper Silesians passionately pays tribute to the tradition and heritage of earlier generations. At present, it is the selection of specific people, families and communities rather than class identity or social status that determine the fidelity to the customs, that is why the contemporary concern for transmission of ethnic values is presented so zealously and genuinely.

Reprezentatywny dla regionu Górnego Śląska strój bytomsko-rozbarski to taki wytwór rąk człowieka, który jak w soczewce skupia ślady dziejów, bogactwo kulturowego kontekstu oraz echa przemian społecznych. Jest nade wszystkim istotnym znakiem przynależności do wspólnoty Ślązaków odzyskujących samoświadomość oraz potrzebę manifestowania swej odrębności na tle tendencji globalistycznych. Strój rozbarski nie uległ zapomnieniu ani też nie wpisał się w czysto muzealny wymiar pamiątek. Dzięki zaangażowaniu Rozbarczan doczekał się wznowienia produkcji dla celów ludycznych, świątecznych i obrzędowych. Młoda generacja Górnoślązaków, powracając do źródeł, z pasją odnajduje się w tym hołdzie dla tradycji i dziedzictwa wcześniejszych pokoleń. Dziś już nie tożsamość klasowa, stanowa czy status społeczny decyduje o wierności obyczajom, lecz wybór konkretnych osób, familii i wspólnot, dlatego tak żarliwie i autentycznie prezentuje się współczesna troska o transmisję wartości etnicznych.
