The goal of this paper is analysis of process of monetary integration in Europe which took places from ending of World War II to 1970. In this article, it can be pointed out three parts. The first one is description of reasons which persuaded the European countries to take effort of integration. The second part presents the attempts of integration of Western Europe countries by creating international organizations witch had no direct links with the European Economic Community. In the last part there is analysis of process of monetary integration connected with the EEC till 1970.

Celem artykułu jest dokonanie analizy procesów integracji walutowej w Europie zachodzących od zakończenia II-giej Wojny Światowej do roku 1970. W pracy zostały wyodrębnione trzy części. W pierwszej opisano przyczyny skłaniające państwa europejskie do podjęcia wysiłku integracyjnego. W drugiej części zaprezentowano próby integracji państw Europy Zachodniej w postaci tworzenia organizacji międzynarodowych niezwiązanych bezpośrednio z istnieniem Europejskiej Wspólnoty Gospodarczej. W ostatniej, trzeciej części dokonano analizy procesów integracji walutowej zachodzących w ramach EWG do roku 1970.
