The purpose of the current paper is to investigate the demographics-based differences in the relationship between customers’ perceptions of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and their loyalty towards brands/companies in the dairy products market, considering the socio-cultural and economic particularities of one of the largest countries of Central-Eastern Europe. For this purpose, a survey was implemented among a sample of 1461 dairy products consumers from the urban area of Romania, investigating perceived CSR and customer loyalty by using 28, and, respectively, 6 Likert-type items. Results show that customers’ loyalty towards dairy brands/companies is positively and significantly influenced by how customers perceive companies’ responsibility towards their customers, in all investigated demographic segments. However, there are other facets of perceived CSR (community development, the environment, economic success, sponsorship, public authorities) in which case the relationship with customer loyalty is only significant in certain demographics-based market segments

Protecting citizens against social risk is one of the most important tasks of a democraticstate. In Poland, it is implemented through the social security system, an important element of which is the pension system. The purpose of the article is to analyze the factors that determine the functioning and change of the pension system. The considerations concern the demographic, social, economic and political situation. The research problem is the circumstances that determine the need for reform of the Polish old age risk protection system. The following research hypothesis was formulated: functioning and change of the pension system are conditioned by many circumstances, but the most important thing is the demographic situation. Its verification requires the use of the document examination method as well as the method of analysis and criticism of the literature. The considerations undertaken in the article allowed to state that the pension system is subject to frequent changes aimed at adapting it to new conditions. In the author's opinion, the demographic situation is the most important factor affecting the pension system, which may in the future pose an increasing challenge to its long-term stability.

The study focuses on the major perceptions of demographic security in Poland and Russia, regarded as an aspect of both social and state security. Demographics as a political topic has been increasingly more often exploited as a key theme in official narratives and practical policies. The similarities in the demographic dynamics in both countries, as well as conditional failures of demographic policies, may not necessarily result from evident mistakes, but are probably a result of a complex set of social factors, including the regularities of demographic development in the past. It is quite clear, however, that the Polish political narratives and declared set of state objectives concentrate rather on the social sphere, whereas the Russian rhetoric and policy are clearly more state oriented.

Demographic changes are one of the determinants shaping the global economy. Due to the growing population, the analysis of demographic changes in developed and developing countries is crucial. The aim of the article was to identify changes in the demographic structure of the least developed countries, and to assess the impact of demographic trends on the world economy. The study examines selected demographic trends in the least developed countries, including positive population growth, increase in life expectancy and in the number of children aged 0-14. The possible consequences for population growth in LDCs were also indicated. Based on the analysis of the literature and quantitative data, a possible increase in net migration from the LDCs and the probability of cultural problems in the host countries were identified. The research methods used in the article were the analysis of the literature and the method of inference. The aim of this article was to analyse the evolving demographic patterns in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and their potential impact on the global economy. To achieve this objective, the following research questions were formulated: What are the potential risks associated with a young population in LDCs? How might demographic changes in LDCs influence developed countries? The research methods employed in this study included literature analysis and the inference method. Reliable quantitative data from reputable sources such as the World Bank, UNCTAD, and the WTO, among others, were utilised in the analysis.

This paper sets out to study recent developments in the relatively new area in management theory- Age Management. First the general labor and financial market conditions are specified which have led to the growing need of an age-oriented strategy for employment in the company. Next the concept of Age Management is defined, both from the macro, enterprise-level and individual perspectives. The next section studies the benefits derived from implementing Age Management for the company and its employees, followed by a section on specific Age Management tools and measures. The penultimate section explores the prerequisites for successful implementation. This paper finds that Age Management as a concept is gaining ground, predominantly in managing and retaining near-retirement-age workers. Concluding, we find that there is a significant need for more comprehensive Age Management and effective Age Management measures to maintain firms’ and economies’ competitiveness in the face of demographic decline.

Research background: The theoretical basis of the study derives from the assumptions of international entrepreneurship combining theories of entrepreneurship and theories of international business. The identification of entrepreneurship determinants and attributes was based on the economic, socio-cultural, as well as psychological approach to entrepreneurship. Purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to verify how demographic and basic traits of an entrepreneur affect the pace of the internationalization of firms from Poland. Methods: The study was based on CATI method. The article uses data collected on the basis of a study conducted on a sample of 355 companies from Poland. The research methods applied are a critical analysis of prior research, which allowed to identify the research gap and develop research hypotheses. In the empirical part, statistical methods were applied, including descriptive statistics and multidimensional regression. Findings & value added: The logistic regression estimation allows to confirm three hypotheses. With the age of the entrepreneur, the pace of internationalization of the firm increases. The pace of internationalization of the firm increases with the level of education of the entrepreneur. The fact that an entrepreneur belongs to a national minority increases the pace of the internationalization of the firm. Results of two-sample t-test confirm that firms whose entrepreneurs have higher entrepreneurial competences internationalize faster and earlier. The added value of the article is the combination of socio-demographic and psycho-cognitive characteristics of the entrepreneur with internationalisation. Applying this approach to a sample of firms from Poland (CEE market) contributes to research on international entrepreneurship in a thematic and geographical sense. The results of the study are of an applied nature. They can be addressed to many recipients: entrepreneurs, policymakers, educators, entities responsible for shaping and promoting entrepreneurship on both the micro and macro levels.

Poland is an ageing society, a fact that has social repercussions. Government programmes point to the necessity of improving the quality of life of senior citizens in various domains. An important objective in gerontology is to increase the activity of senior citizens, which renders ageing a less arduous process. This objective has been postulated to involve the media. Given its public service remit and the specificity of audial communication, which enables a non-stereotypical treatment of old age, Polish Radio is tasked with including in its programming issues concerning the social inclusion of senior citizens. The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis that presenters of public radio, broadly accessible and popular among senior citizens as it is, address their well-being in its regular programmes.

Reform of Lebanon’s pension system is indispensable. The country already faces fiscal sustainability risks, which will be compounded in the future by significantly higher pension- related spending and liabilities, mainly reflecting adverse demographics. In addition to sustainability issues, the pension system also suffers from equity shortcomings – Lebanon is the only MENA country that does not offer social security for retirees in the private sector. While several reform proposals have been formulated since the early 2000s, none has been implemented to date. Costs mount with every year of delay, so action is required soon to address these challenges.

In Brazil in the late 1980s, participatory budgeting was introduced to help develop deprived neighbourhoods. Modern European cities must face environmental and social threats that cause intraurban inequalities to grow, especially with respect to the elderly. Local governments are urged to reformulate their policy agendas to withstand these trends. Is participatory budgeting not becoming a threat to tackling these issues rather than a solution as it originally was? To address this question, the intra-urban concentration of funds must be investigated. Do neighbourhoods with a higher share of the elderly – less politically active yet emotionally bound to their surroundings – tend to get less funding, as the theory of elite capture could suggest? While this question has been discussed in literature, neither the intra-urban age composition nor the specificity of Polish participatory budgets was considered. The overall goal of the study was to investigate the relationship between the age structure of neighbourhoods in Wrocław and their performance in participatory budgeting editions run between 2016–2017. By means of clustering and multiple correspondence analysis, a typical “winner” of the two editions can be determined. It is a neighbourhood incorporated into the city at later stages of suburbanisation, with single-family housing and an above-average share of residents aged 25–44. The analysis performed does not reveal any similar connections for other types of neighbourhoods, including those with above-average shares of the elderly. It is safe to argue that territorial city expansion and age-related inter-city differences cannot be seen independently of each other.

The present article has a double purpose. Firstly, the author examines the evolution of public support levels for both the Polish EU membership, and euro introduction in Poland; correlations between them are briefly presented. The data is presented chronologically for both datasets, and in the case of EU membership support included the results of own research on relationship between partisanship and EU accession support. The author analyses the literature on the subject, indicating the factors thought to influence public consent in both cases, discussing in particular the impact of personal choice of supporting a given political party (and political stance) on the individual’s view on EU membership and euro introduction. Furthermore, a more detailed analysis of other factors influencing the acceptance of euro introduction in new countries is shown – once again based on recent literature, with particular attention paid to recent studies carried out in Poland, drawing attention to differences with the overall European studies – grouped by type, and supported by results of numerous polls conducted in Poland over the last several years. In the second part, the author presents a diagnosis of the drastically falling support for euro introduction in Poland – compared with steady acceptance for Polish EU membership – in correlation with the importance of correct information campaign as regards the euro. Here, the public›s own assessment of their level of knowledge about the euro currency is juxtaposed with the results of polls on euro support levels in Poland in historical approach, indicating the clear correlation between the two elements. Finally, a short analysis of the information campaign requirements and the current state of the same in Poland is presented.

Opracowanie stanowi studium przypadku - w pracy omówiono przykład kompleksu mieszkaniowego Weidevogelhof w Holandii, którego innowacyjne rozwiązania architektoniczne, infrastrukturalne i społeczne wpisują się w koncepcję środowiska przyjaznego seniorom.

Security is generally considered as a fundamental value, so its assurance is a priority for both the state and individuals. One of the factors affecting security more and more are demographic changes that are taking place in the modern world. Never before has demography had such a stigma on the safety of the state which is proved by separating the area of state demographic security in the science theory. The article attempts to define the concept of national security and the demographic security of the state and to determine the correlation of those two concepts, as well as answers to the question whether the demographic security as a new area of research is a permanent trend or a temporary necessity. The following shows the demographic situation of Poland and its prognosis for the year 2050. The topic is very extensive and the article only outlines the problem.

In this paper, the author links the 1862 Kanlica Conference with the demographic changes in Northeast Bosnia that occurred during the 1860s. The author claims that there was a direct link between these two, or in other words, that the Kanlica Conference was a major factor that contributed to changing the demographics — more precisely, switching the majority between the Christians and Muslims in favor of the latter. It’s important to note it here that the Conference itself wasn’t the only reason for the changes, but the factor which, intentionally or not, caused them.

The article focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of the Polish pension system in the face of demographic changes, which pose a challenge to its long-term stability. The author examines changes in the age structure of the Polish society and their impact on the stability of the pension system. In the context of an aging population, the article considers a new capital component of the pension system – Employee Capital Plans (PPK), which, through their voluntary nature, aim to encourage insured individuals to save additionally at a time when the number of beneficiaries is increasing, and the number of individuals in working age, subject to pension insurance, is decreasing. The objectives of the article include: - evaluating the effectiveness of the introduced solutions in the current Polish pension system in the context of demographic changes; - analyzing the impact of the changing age structure of the Polish society on the financing system and the quality of life of retirees. The analysis emphasizes the need for flexibility in capital management and adjusting investment strategies, especially in situations with a low societal participation rate. The article also recommends intensifying educational and promotional activities to increase the attractiveness of PPK for employees. The article addresses the role of PPK in the Polish pension system, and its goals include identifying possible scenarios for the development of new tools in the face of demographic changes.

Artykuł porusza tematykę roli PPK w polskim systemie emerytalnym, a jego cele obejmują identyfikację możliwych scenariuszy rozwoju nowych narzędzi w obliczu zmian demograficznych.
